Dear Salomon Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of a pair of Salomon hiking shoes I recently purchased. After a single hike, I noticed that the shoes were covered in dirt that I am unable to remove, despite repeated cleaning attempts. Additionally, there are black marks on the shoes that have become permanent and cannot be eliminated. Given Salomon's reputation for high-quality outdoor gear, I am deeply disappointed by this experience. I hope you will consider my concerns seriously and provide an appropriate solution, such as approving a quality check and possible replacement of these shoes. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. mik
I have had these for about a month now, and they are comfortable but poor/cheaply made. The top eyelet on one shoe pulled out after two weeks of almost daily wear, and the nylon lace eyelets are being cut by the nylon-on-nylon sawing of hiking and running. If you wear these shoes on weekends to hike, they will last a season. If you hike and train every day, they will need to be replaced in two months. I also have a pair of the low-cut version, and the same thing happened with the nylon eyelets in only a few days. I had to jerry-rig some eyelets out of p-cord so they wouldn't fall off my feet on a steep descent.
I liked the Ultra Edge 360 shoes overall. They're truly waterproof, comfortable, and lightweight, and have a very nice design. Traction and grip are also optimal. The negative for me were the laces. The laces keep coming untied, and I tried a double-laced shoe as well. A friend bought the Salomon Ultra X, and the laces never came untied. Since the 360 Edge's laces are flat and the others are round, it makes the 360s less secure.
The worst smelling shoes ever in my lifetime. Even wearing beat up basketball shoes when I was a kid never stank this bad. Even with it laced up and clean socks I can smell the stench at my desk. I’ve sprayed it with Lysol and other desperate sprays. It still smells like the sewer. They’re comfy and look decent. But don’t ever wear them if you’re heading to your girlfriend’s place. She’ll run you out the house.
Bought then because I’m a scientist who has to hike daily for work finding endangered plants. I’m also an influencer with over 400k followers (@sacramentofoodforest) where I teach people about the importance of biodiversity. I had merrels that broke and felt I should try Salomon’s because they are expensive but seemed quality. I was wrong. They broke after two hikes. And little to say I’m sticking with merrel
These boots were awesome for maybe 1 month. Very comfortable. After 4 months the soles were completely worn. They have developed holes on the instep of both boots where your toes bend and now let water in. Salomon was always my first pick for boots but I’m highly disappointed with this pair.
I’m having issues breaking in my boots for a trip to Rwanda. I can’t figure out how to reduce a pressure issue on my left inside ankle. It hurts to wear them. I leave in 8 days. Any suggestions. Boots fit well else where
It feels like I'm hiking on clouds thanks to Salomon. I highly recommend and I will purchase them again when worn out.
A piece broke off the first time trying to tie them. Pretty weak manufacturing. Would not recommend.
