5th pair of peregrines. Lace eyelets are improved from previous version. Nice toe box and perfect cushioning without being too soft.
This is for version 13. A gripe (with previous version),but am trying this version because I liked them so much. Very comfortable with great traction. Very light weight. Had no issues with upper materials. The upper seems incredibly durable for the weight of this shoe. The sole however, on my left shoe was fine, but the right shoe, the middle strip under the heel split when I feel I could have otherwise gotten a good bit more use out of these, and I wonder what on earth made them decide to put that separate strip there, and I'm not pleased it still exists on version14. Why not maintain the compound thats on the rest of the sole throughout the entire sole?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Trail Shoes. Almost feels like they are already broken into. My Bf loved the color and the support it gave him while hiking. Traction was also good. It had rained and he said they wore like a glove.
The fit was comfortable, but it required using leukotape on my heels to prevent blisters even after they were broken in. The grip was great. The upper developed some holes after ~25 miles. Most importantly, both heels split with less than 100 miles on them. I had Peregrine 12 runners that lasted me multiple years and hundreds of miles. This iteration was a major downgrade.
Great show I got the muted blue color . I love trail runners for actually off road hiking which is what I bought them for. They have the stabily for uneven terrain but breathe well and don’t have the overkill of hiking shoes as I go on hikes and walks that are 1-3 hours .
Thanks for the awesome 5-stars!
I bought these in May of 2024 and after 3 weeks the fabric on the inside of the shoe near the heel completely was worn away. After 8 weeks I had plastic from the shoe rubbing my heel/ankle. Just feel poorly made and I only use them for trail walking around ~3 miles a day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] padding underfoot, while a breathable mesh design ensures lightweight comfort. comfortable and makes running experience easier and fun! easy use for everyday activities! fashionable and comfort all in one! cannot wait to go hiking in my new shoes!
Thanks for the great feedback! We're happy you like them!
I’ve got less than 150 miles on them and this is my 3rd or 4th pair of Peregrines. I’m not a fan of the split heal in the back. It starts out fine but it quickly becomes a crack that just holds rocks under my heal.
I've been coming back to Peregrines for over 10 years. During that time the design has changed, and some models weren't great, but the key elements - the last and the sole, have remained fairly consistent. This shoe really fits my foot - low volume, wide forefoot, long toes - and locks me in with a comfortable fit. The basic tread design, with traction bars in the front for going uphill and in the back for grip on downhills, remain my favorite. For a great value, get a pair of the 13's with a lower price and basically the same shoe. I've had other trail runners that just didn't suit - marshallowy Hokas, Salomon's with breaky laces, Altras that fell apart, etc. I hike trails around Taos, NM and other areas of the west.
This is my second pair of Peregrines. I bought the 11s a few years back and put around 1,500 miles on them, which I know isn't recommended, but they just wouldn't die. I've had the 14s a few weeks and have about 80 miles on them, and so far they've been fantastic. I prefer the lower stack height and lesser drop (28/24) compared with most shoes these days, and the 5 mm lugs really do make a difference on the trail climbs and descents here in Western Montana. Very comfortable with just the right amount of protection to still feel the trail and feel in control. I've tried a million different trail runners over the years and this is definitely my favorite.
