Love the wide open mesh top to view the stars. Easy to set up. Fits 4 short adults who like each other a lot on camp pads. Ideal for two adults in reality. Enough space for small dog/child. Wish it had a window on the door for better air flow. Too heavy to back pack with, recommend for car camping.
Setting up the tent is quite easy. Setting up the rain fly is easy as well but u would have appreciated if it would’ve been able to cover the back window a bit more. The back window leaks when it rains. Wasn’t able to open the back window to let air flow in therefore it was quite stuffy inside. Overall tho, it did the job but I would not use this tent for rainy weather.
First, we LOVE REI and it's products but not this one. The single door has NO bug mesh in it so your'e either opening the door to get air and letting bugs have open access????? OR you're closing the door and having poor circulation if the fly is on.. The back window isn't covered by the fly well and rain can get in.. We're disappointed in this one.. Sorry people...
I got the 4 person model. Very easy to set up - under five minutes (one person). Poles are sturdy and tent is well made. This tent will withstand a drizzle but not rain. Fly is great for shade and is super easy to attach. Very spacious inside; excellent headroom. Love the sky dome to watch stars. You have to have the front door open to see out (no mesh layer), but that is fine with me. Has good ventilation. For a permanent summer shelter it is exactly what I was looking for. I got this tent on sale and it is an excellent value for the sale price. Not perfect, but good enough for my needs.
I bought this tent because it looked like a great value for the money. it is fairly priced and easy to set up. it can be a challenge to get the poles attached to the tent, it kinda feels like you're going to rip the tent. it is tight. this tent kept my boys and I dry during a 2 day drizzle. the window can leak a little, but not bad. I would spend a little more on a higher end tent next time.
Spacious and Wonderful tent. Great value and sturdy. Love the color and so easy to set up and take down.
Bought this tent on clearance and glad I didn’t pay full price. It’s an adequate tent as long as you’re camping in *dry* weather. Unfortunately, we took it camping on the Oregon coast in rainy weather and the interior did not stay dry. Here are the two biggest problems we experienced: 1) I woke up both mornings with a wet spot on the middle of my sleeping bag. This is how I discovered that my sleeping bag is, blessedly, waterproof. 2) When opening the door, the rain fly drips water straight down into the tent. Shaking the rain fly to drain the water didn’t help. We ended up with a puddle on the floor of the tent every time we opened the door. The tent is easy to set up and the poles are sturdy. I like the modified dome structure, which allows more vertical space and head room (though unless you’re short, it’s not tall enough to stand, but I wouldn’t expect that in a 4-person tent). The tent packs easily in its bag and is relatively lightweight. Because it was half price we decided to keep it, but had we paid full price we would definitely be returning it. This will need to be a tent we take only when we know the weather will be dry.
Overpriced for what it is. Easy setup but low quality zippers, materials, etc.
This tent is an ok basic tent. It fits 2 cots plus some stuff, which is what I was going for, but the lack of a mesh fly is really annoying!
We moved to our land on December 26th and have been living in this tent and a canopy for the last 6 months. The lack of door mesh and the fact that the rain fly is terribly designed is all solid info. We live under additional tarps to make it stay dry but the space is adequate and has functioned at home for some time. It’s easy to set up and solid as a structure. Get some tarps and rip stop and you are good to go.
