Glamping Capable
Received free product
The instructions were clear and attached inside the storage bag. All seams are securely stitched inside and out. The fabric feels durable, and the Juniper Blue color is soft and gender-neutral—very calming for me. Zippers glide smoothly. It has generous front storage pockets and a zippered port for cords. The vestibule is oversized, and there’s a roof buckle for hanging a lantern. Both entrances are tall and wide—at 5’4”, I could stand fully upright inside with more room to spare. This is easily one of the nicest 4-person tents I’ve seen—perfect for glamping or camping. My only disappointment was the duffel bag, which uses a flap and cinch cord instead of a full zipper.

Good tent but I had to return it
The design and features of the tent were fine, but I had to return the tent to REI after one camping trip because the tent floor leaked through in one area. Not through a seam on the side, bottom or window but through the floor even when it was not actively raining but still wet on the ground outside. Design flaw: Screened window flaps at front and back of tent have only one zipper unlike the two doors that have two zippers.

Generous 4 person space!

Received free product

I’ve used this tent on two camping trips so far and really like it. One of the biggest highlights for me is that I can actually stand up inside, which makes changing and moving around so much easier. It also feels like a very generous four person space, especially for two people with gear. The vestibule was big enough to fit my camp chair, which created a nice covered outdoor area. I also liked the two doors and the several mesh pockets inside for organizing small things. Another thing I loved was the wide, easy to stuff storage bag with duffel handles, which made packing it up surprisingly easy. The only things I’d improve are adding a vestibule on both sides of the tent and color coding the rainfly straps, since the fly is pretty large and it can take a minute to figure out which side goes where during setup. Overall it’s a comfortable, spacious tent with a lot of thoughtful features.

Spacious tent!

Received free product

First of all, I love the storage bag that the tent came in. I've had many tents over the years and I hate shoving the tent into a tiny bag. The tent setup was intuitive because of the matching poles with the grommets (& buckles). I only had to look at the instructions as I was putting on the rainfly to determine which side was the front or back. The instructions were sown in the bag (thanks). The vestibule is large for tons of gear. One other thing that I like is how tall it is inside. I'm 6'3' and I can almost stand up in it. You can see how tall it is compared to the fence behind the tent. A lot of room!

Solid car camping option

Received free product

Weather changed our camping plans but still set up and broke it down in less than10 minutes as a first time attempt without staking or setting up the fly. If anything, quicker to setup but I was able to get it back in the carrying sack in 10 minutes by myself. My two cents : - I like the color coded poles (2 fo the structure, 1 for the entry. - I needed a 2nd person to easily guide the poles and get them in the grommets - Room enough for 2 people and gear… maybe a third smaller kid but, while 4 people could sleep, the gear would need to be stowed elsewhere - Easy access for extension cords and hanging a light - Ample space to stand. My son and I are 5’10” and 6’. Definitely a plus - Zipper quality is sturdy -The grommets have a fold of material to make it so easy to ‘lock in’ the structure poke that are not flimsy

Great tent with extra room and storage options

Received free product

This is a beautiful tent to take car camping. I really appreciate the storage bag the tent materials come in - definitely more nifty than my other tents. It was a cinch to put up, and the larger front vestibule gives ample space for your crusty hiking boots. There's plenty of storage within to stash camp shoes, a book, lights, etc. As someone who really hunkers down in their tent, I value the ability to be neat and to keep things off the floor of the tent. I received this tent as a part of the REI Trailblazers program, and received it in February in the Northeastern United States. As such, at this point I've only pitched it in my basement and my backyard. That said, we're already very excited for this tent to replace our go-to for the various car camping adventures we have lined up this year. If you're looking for a 4 person tent with extra room and comfort, you really can't go wrong here!

Perfect getaway tent

I am a tent hoarder. 6 out of 10 of my current tents are REI brand. I hadn't seen a lot of reviews of the new Westward so when it was on sale, I got one and gave it a one night try. Easy to set up. I like the brow poles in the front and the back to keep rain off the doors. The vestibule is enough room for one chair or some gear..I prefer green tents that blend in with the woods but this blue is subtle and it's very bright inside. The mesh is well placed for ventilation. I live in a cold climate so I appreciate that the doors can be zipped up over the mesh. No rain on my trial run, but I think that the rainfly will shed the rain well despite not covering the whole tent. Vestibule zipper snags a bit but door zippers are smooth. I use a XL, extra wide cot so this fits perfectly. And the walls are close to vertical. But it is definitely smaller than some of my other 4 person tents. Two people with regular cots would fit well, and 3 adults without cots would be fine. It's well made, has nice features such as pockets and a buckle for hanging a lantern. All in all, it's perfect for one or two people for a couple of nights. But I'll go back to my 2019 model Kingdom tents for longer trips.

Nice tent , 1 person can set it up.

Easy to set up. I set it up myself but did have to look at the instructions the first time. Should go faster from now on. A true 4 adult tent with backpacking pads but I like to use 4-5” mattresses for car camping so I’m this case, 3 adults works better. I’m happy with this purchase. Just got it so don’t know how good it is in rain or wind. You get 4 heavy duty stakes with it but I’ll probably plan on having 6 extras .

Does not stay dry!

This tent had a pretty significant design flaw. The lower part of the rear door zipper does not have an outer rain flap. This allowed a bunch of water to leak through it during a rain storm. Unlike front door, the rear door is not fully covered by rain fly, which is usually fine, as long as the flap is there. For some reason, they sewed the flap on the inside of the tent instead. This allowed the water to leak through the zipper, then spill over the top of the flap (all pictured). I do not believe this is a defect, rather a flaw in the design as the door has only one zipper. As mentioned in another review, this door should have two zippers, so the bottom one can have the flap outside. Ive been camping for 30 years, and this is the first time I've seen something like this happen. Fortunately, I was able to return this to REI in store.

Water leaks through rear door in rain

Lot of rain water leaked through the zipper of the rear door. As you can see from my photos, the lower part of the zipper has no rain flap over it (it is located inside the tent for some reason). Unlike the front, the rear door is not fully covered by a rain fly, which would be fine if the zipper was covered properly. Rain water leaked through the zipper, spilled over the top of the inside flap (all pictured), and flooded one side of the tent. As mentioned in another review, this door should have two separate zippers, so there can be an outside flap on the bottom portion. I've been camping for 30 years in Coleman, Eddie Bauer, and other tents. This is the first time I've seen a design like this and encountered leaking through the zipper. My friend's $120 Coleman was totally dry inside after the same rain storm. This is not okay for a $450 tent.

Excellent tent!

While a little pricey, this is an excellent tent. The material and zippers feel sturdy. It is spacious and tall on the inside. It fit two people with lots of space in the middle as a semi-walkway and place to put things. It could fit 3 adults comfortably, 4 adults would be a stretch. Easy to put up, and the instructions are sewn into the bag if needed for reference. We used the vestibule to put our luggage while camping and used the back entrance as the main one, which worked great. There are pockets on the inside and loops at the top to hang a lightweight lantern from. It didn't rain while we used it, so I cant speak to the weatherproofing.
