Lightweight snow saw cuts columns
I wanted a minimalist saw for a lightweight backcountry kit to stock a JetForce UL 26L pack. This saw is smaller than my other ones and is very light ~165g as advertised. Unfortunately, it just barely fits in the saw sleeve of the pack and is a struggle to zip up when the pack is loaded with a day's worth of gear. More a backpack problem than a saw problem; I may shorten the handle area with an angle grinder to make for more compact carry. The edge guard works okay for now, but relies on lateral grip of thin plastic that has no point guard at the end like the G3 model: when this gets to be a few seasons old I expect it won't stay on when sliding the saw into the pack.
Lightweight and multipurpose use
Normally, there's not much to say about a snow saw. Is it light and does it cut snow, ice, and wood? Yes. It's also not so unusual to have a built in crystal card and 30cm measurement on the blade but the addition of the built in ECT cord on the handle is the cherry on top for me. Wrapping it all up into an extremely light yet maneuverable blade makes this my top pick for any day out.
Awesome & simple saw
Haven’t used mine yet but I’ve been sharing with a friend of mine who’s had it for several years. The cord on the handle is great and I love the crystal chart and length measurements. Super light and great for anyone going into the mountains during winter.
Small saw that doesn’t take up space
There’s a 30 cm mark, but I added marks for every 5 cm. Snow card area is small, but it works fine so long as it stays in the shade or snow. I don’t mind the angled handle, but I do prefer straight ones.
Recette gagnante
On peut pas vrm se tromper, outils efficaces et pratiques. Il a tout ce que tu as besoin. Seul désavantage, il est un peu long avec sa poignée, ne rentre pas dans tous les sacs.
Fine snow saw
Pretty nice snow saw. String idea sounds nice but it’s really finicky to put back when you’re done with your pits. The saw is super light though and great build quality
Great snow saw
Long enough for must avalanch tests with the cord handle in case you need to do an extended column test. Lightweight, durable and at a good price.
Love the low profile!
Has all the details, small slim profile for my backcountry pit digging set up. Nice ‘n sharp and has nice measurements on the sides.
Snow saw
Replaced a heavier saw with this. Very light and minimalist. Use for building snow walls for winter camps as well as snow pits.
Snow saw
Great snow saw, sheath isn’t my favorite but seems to hold fine so far. Like the handle with the ability to store cord
