Awesome lightweight snow saw
I work as a ski guide, avalanche educator, and ski patroller for much of the winter. This snow saw is always with me. It's lightweight with a great solid cover. Some other saw models have floppy covers that come off in your pack. Then the saw shreds your pack. The CM marks make executing my favorite snow tests easy to measure. The handle attaches to my ski poles in a super secure manor. This makes it super easy for me to execute large column tests like the ECT and PST. Some of the other saws on the market secure to a ski pole with ski straps. This just does not work. These saws rotates or spin when trying to cut the column. OR the saw just comes off entirely in the back of the column. The BCA locking mechanism is solid. Overall a super simple, solid design that just works!
Fine, but too big to fit in my pack
The saw is fine, but it's a real pain to fit it in the avalanche tools pocket of my BD Dawn Patrol 32 pack, so I returned it and am getting a folding saw.
