2 DOGS HEMP HOUND SWEATER SIZE L
Product is well-made. The zipper being on the side tends to allow the sweater to rotate towards the zipper side when the dogs are running around. Might be a little long on the under side for a male dog. Fits the brindle boxer mix better than the chocolate pit mix due to chest size. Overall stays to well and would block a cold wind. Zipper touching hip bothered chocolate pot mix, but didn’t bother brindle.
Versatile Sweater
If your dog can hold a “Stand, Stay” this is a great option for you. With the side zip it can be awkward to put on a wiggly dog or an elderly dog… hence the four stars… the weight would have been perfect for my fifteen year old to wear indoors but he didn’t like how I had to pick up his legs to get him into the sweater. It’s a nice light sweater for a dog who runs warm and works as a layer under a backpack or rain jacket. My GSD in the photo has 31” chest and is 60 lbs which makes her just about in between sizes. The M fit snuggly in this sweater but an L would give her maybe too much room??? That being said, it helps her size L/XL Front Range Day Pack fit better and is snug enough that it works under her size L Sun Shower Raincoat on chilly days. I see us getting a lot of use out of this. Btw, I tried the size M on my other GSD whose chest is 31.5” and weighs 70lbs and it wouldn't zip. Estremely well-made, lightweight dog sweater
I was a little worried when I said that I was willing to test this product, because I have a corgi, who is long in the body but short-legged. Frequently dog "clothing" is too short in the back for her. I was pleasantly surprised! It even covers her tail stub. It's easy to put on, with a zipper on the side, protected with a strip of material against getting hair into the zipper. The workmanship is amazing. My dog usually doesn't like any kind of clothing, but she didn't seem to mind this at all. We took her out to a nearby wildlife area; she had no trouble walking or jumping up or down on small boulders, and the sweater didn't slip around at all.. She did slip a paw out of one of the leg holes while she was lying down in the car, but we didn't have that problem when she was walking or jumping. The leg holes are generous and not binding. It did slip down her back just a bit. This is a perfect sweater for cool days. She didn't act as though it was too warm for her at 30-50 degrees (corgis have a double coat).The one we tested was a nice light blue color. I have never seen dog clothing so well made, with so much attention to detail. I would, however consider this more a "jacket" than a sweater as it's not knitted.
Yummy sweater
The Hemp Hound Sweater has been perfect for Milo. The design is sleek and form-fitting while the capped sleeves allow for free, unrestricted movement. The latter is especially important for an active dog like Milo! The snug, soft material keeps him comfortably toasty during chilly nights of tent camping adventures. While at home, he never overheats which speaks to the breathability of the fabric. The contoured zipper is super easy for getting it on and off him (unlike pullover jackets). The reflective seam helps keep both ends of the leash safe when we take our night walks. We've had the jacket for about a month with many trips to the beach, desert, and mountains along with hours of car travel. It's holding up beautifully.
Fits giant breeds!
I love that the sweater isn't made of synthetic material, so less static for my dog. This is also one of the few dog clothing brands I've found that fit my 167-pound mastiff. The XL fit him perfectly. He wore it under his dog coat on the snow and stayed comfortable.
Perfect sweater for our boy!
We have the hardest time finding clothing to fit our English bull terrier. This fits him so well and is a perfect weight for our weather. Surprisingly he wears a medium. We can layer it if needed or use it by itself.
Great Sweater for Cool Weather
I love Ruffwear and so does my dog. This is a perfect sweater when it's chilly but not raining. It slips over the dogs neck then zips along the side. Super easy to take on and off. That said, if it's raining and the sweater gets wet, it takes awhile to dry out and I am not sure how warm it is when it's soaking wet. I've washed it twice and it's held up well. Highly recommend.
Safety risk for my dog
A safety risk for my dog At first I thought this sweater was going to be great. The fabric is good and the zipper made it easy to put on and off. It also covered my dog's belly which was good for her. But the sweater starts to pull towards her tail and cups over her rear end, and no amount of adjusting it will keep it from cupping over her rear. As a result, the sweater pulls the front leg hole openings backwards and restricts her front legs like a straight-jacket, and she can't walk. We won't put it on her anymore because it seems like a safety risk for her and cruel to keep trying it.
high quality, soft, dogs happy
Feels very soft, but the way natural fabric does, not like poly fleece. My water dogs liked wearing them-- happy faces. I am buying more today. The zipper is smooth and very conveniently located on the side. Beautifully crafted quality. made in Vietnam, not China.

Love this! Perfect for long walks in the CO cold with my pup! He seems to think it’s comfy, doesn’t fight me to put it on!
