Everything sticks to these gloves.
I purchased these gloves to use for cold nights and mornings backpacking, and to use backcountry skiing in the skin track. Snow sticks like crazy to them, and so does any kind of grass, twigs, or burrs. In the snow they are instantly wet if you get any snow on them, particularly if it's warm out, and on the trail they act like velcro. Do yourself a favor an don't by these gloves unless you plan on using them for anything else than taking the dog for a walk.
Very warm
Bought these for biking to work in the colder months and they work beautifully. Brought these elk hunting in Colorado and they ended up being significantly warmer than my much thicker "nicer" gloves
Warm for its size
These gloves are light weight and warm enough for the low 40s and mid 30s for general walking around. If you plan to work with your hand outdoors for an extended amount of time in the 30s, these may not be warm enough. The touch sensitivity is OK, but not great. The fingers have to reach the touch area with full contact for the touch to work well. Another thing to keep in mind is that these gloves pick up debris, such as pieces of leaves, easily, and as your hands get dry and rough, the gloves can become "grabby."
Good for city walking and driving.
Tried these in store to make sure touch point worked on phone, better that another slim pair from north face. Worked well in car later that day too. Touch point seems to be less precise after weeks of use in the car. These are more than standard wool knits. There is something inside that blocks most of the breeze. Note these are not for deep cold (sub 20F) long term. Handle moisture pretty well, you can feel the wet but not the cold.
Maybe it's me, not the gloves ...
I have owned many stellar OR gloves over the years and they've all been excellent and hard wearing. I decided to try these instead of another pair of flurry gloves to see how they compare. The trail mix fleece has so little insulation/warmth retention that the temps they would be sufficient for are temps where I'd rather skip gloves. They also dried surprisingly slowly for fleece. I used them around town and shoveling snow in northern Wisconsin. They're likely great as liners or for folx who want a light glove in those warmer temps where I'd prefer the dexterity of bare hands.

Perfect campsite gloves
These are super comfy and soft, thin enough to stay agile for tying knots or any other campsite tasks, but cozy enough to stay warm. I don't think I would trust these to last super long on the trail using trekking poles all day, but that's not what these are for. They're more like glove liners or campsite gloves than proper technical gloves. But for the price, fit, comfort and style, you can't beat them. They match up perfectly with my Trail Mix 1/4 Zip Pullover, which is great for those pics/vids while you're hanging around the campgrounds. Just wish they had more colors.
Great Buy!
Great gloves! I’ve always gone with regular liner gloves to wear in my larger mitts, but these really helped keep my hands warm and comfortable. They’re a bit snug when I put in my larger mitts but they serve purpose, so far the touch tip works well too!
Hole in glove in less then 5 weeks
I purchased these fleece gloves to pair with the Smartwool liner gloves for nature photography and hiking, as they seemed like the perfect balance between warmth and dexterity for adjusting camera controls. When paired with the liner gloves, they provided extra warmth while still allowing good dexterity. Unfortunately, after less than 5 weeks of use, one of the gloves developed a hole—just like the liner gloves (see my separate review for those). While they were comfortable and worked well both over the liner and on their own, their durability was a letdown. I understand that fleece gloves aren't as rugged as heavier-duty options, and I made sure to reserve them for light activities like photography, avoiding tasks like yard work or wood gathering. Still, I was hoping they would last through at least one full season of use. Given the short time I had them, I was disappointed with their durability and ultimately returned them.
Great look and feel, sus quality
Really love the look and feel of these gloves. The orange color absolutely pops! However, I'm a bit worried about how long they'll hold up for. After only one season, a small hole has already popped up around the wrist are of these gloves. Unfortunately not the quality I'm used to from OR.
Good for walking from the parking lot to the store
Generally really like OR products, but these gloves just do not handle extended wear in cold weather. At 38 degrees they did not keep my hands warm walking around the block. Can’t really recommend them for much more than walking from the parking lot into the store.
