Good, but not for Splitboarders

Overall, the pack is good. It's too bad the Small size isn't very available for shorter rides and females. I ended up gambling with the Medium and the frame is too big. The colors and quality are great pros for backcountry riding. Unfortunately I bought this pack for the A-frame splitboard carry. I have a narrow women's specific board and the loops are too small to accommodate the board and hardware. If you are a skier, this may not be a problem.

Great Pack! Confusing hydration system.

I bought this a few months ago and I love it! The only problem is the hydration system. It really doesn’t make sense. There is a hole in the pack for the tube to feed up to the side of the pack but my Gregory 2L reservoir won’t even come close. I have to loop the tube around to the other side of the pack entirely. It’s like Gregory made the pack without looking at their own reservoir design.

Great pack if you have narrow skis

I bought this Gregory Targhee 32 in hopes of finding the ideal backcountry pack for all day use. There are plenty of packs this size that allow diagonal carry which this one does. However, I needed a 32 liter pack that could also carry my skis A-frame. Gregory Targhee 32 product description was encouraging as it mentioned A-Frame for splitboarders. While I'm a skier, unfortunately neither of my skis fit in the A-frame loops. The loops are too narrow for a powder ski. I called Gregory support which took over 30 min to get someone on the phone. The woman who answered didn't have any information to share with me other than to say, my concern hasn't every been reported previously. I ask to speak with someone who could give me technical feedback on the most recent version of the pack and she said no one who answers the phones knows the features of the packs. Oh well. Has this issue been fixed? I'm looking for a pack that can carry typical powder skis A-Frame at this pack size 32. Gregory if you fixed this let me know. If you haven't, perhaps get the width of a typical splitboard and powder ski and make the loop adjustable so narrow skis can also fit snug as a bug in a rug :)

Does not fit wide splitboards in A-Frame carry!

Great bag, nice features. Only thing I would change would be to have wider loops at the bottom strap for splitboard A-Frame carry. Seems like a pretty large oversight by Gregory to not make them a little bit wider. The strap is just barely wide enough to slip the tail of my board in, but can't go over the hardware. I'm on the wide end of most boards so maybe not an issue for all boards (but unless really slim clip hardware probably an issue for most boards). Tail width of 31.9cm for reference. While you can still vertical carry the board off the back of the pack, A-Frame carry is much more comfortable especially if you boots are hanging in bindings

Great Bag for Backcountry Day Trips

I bought this bag as I was just starting to dip my toes into backcountry skiing and I couldn't be happier with it. In the first few days of owning it I kept discovering new features that completely made sense for backcountry skiing, like the durable material used on the A-Frame straps to ensure the edges of skis wouldn't fray the straps. Love how expansive the backpack is and how many miscellaneous things I can throw into the ski goggle pocket (it's way bigger than it looked). Look forward to using this bag as long as I can, which, if the past few weeks are any example, should be for the next few years.

Great Pack for Tall BC skiers/riders.

If you are over 6'2" this is a great pack for fit and comfort. The hip zipper pocket and carabiner loop are more accessible than standard packs of similar design. Great design features for backcountry travel for skis or splitboards; designed for shovel and probe (internal) and transporting ice ax and skis or board; and plenty of room for extra gear for a long day out.

Great fit and great suspension!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At 6'2" the large Tarhgee 32 fit great right away and was plenty of suspension for a summer ski trip up to Tuckerman's Ravine on Mt. Washington.

Top choice for tall skiers/riders...or anyone.

Comfortable, bright, holds everything I need. I'm 6'6" and love the long torso on the M/L size, really fits better than any other pack I've tried. I can actually wear the straps where they're meant to be worn and the pack sits right where it needs to on my back. A little bigger than I need for the side/slackcountry that I do, but I bought it to head to Japan and I anticipate it being perfect. Plus it doubles nicely as a carry-on! Also love the back panel access and insulated hydration sleeve in the shoulder strap. They've thought of everything.
