Hands down my favorite piece of gear I've ever owned! Plenty roomy for a full day in the backcountry, and I've taken it out numerous times on overnight ski trips (huts and tent camping both). It has every feature I want and nothing extra to get in the way. It carries surprisingly well for such a light pack and the S/M fits my petite frame nicely. The fast carry is not the most comfortable but it's super convenient for a quick boot. It's also my go-to ice climbing bag, as it has plenty of room for layers, the ice ax attachment is simple and effective, and the rope carry is excellent. Thanks to Gregory for designing the perfect winter bag!
Wow! You can certainly tell that the people who engineered this product are actually outdoors people themselves. What a terrific idea to be able to stow my skis without having to remove my pack. This is due to the FastTrack friction hook system. It has been expertly constructed using lightweight, removable components so that I can “customize” it for my own particular needs. The anodized aluminum hardware makes it functional in cold weather and easy to use even with a gloved hand. I appreciate the sternum strap with integrated safety whistle and a total of 4 external pockets including a front quick-access pocket and a zippered security pocket on the underside.
Great pack! Fast track works better than other skimo style carry systems I've used (mostly it's just more secure than the loop + hook method - I've had skis fall out from the metal hook before). And the pack itself is a good pack for my use, although I do find that all of the straps are way longer than necessary, so I'll be trimming them because they tend to get caught on stuff. My one real complaint is that the "U zip" that lets you open the backpanel is missing. I understand that the fast track system as currently implemented would get in the way of a u zip back panel, but I'd love to have both. Maybe fast track could be tweaked to accommodate it. The u zip of the regular targhee 45 really helps make accessing the packs contents quicker and.more convenient.

They really thought about everything for the perfect backcountry day or for the slopes. carry your ice axe, skis, and helmet and have room for whatever else you may need. it's comfortable and fits my frame. I'm 5'5" and have the small/medium size. it doesn't come with a bladder but you can pick up a 3L that will fit in perfectly and the backpack has a clip for it. It's a great value too! thanks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, some of the reviews say this is too small to pack and survive in the snow for several days. That is correct. For a day of skiing, it is perfect. Everything in the bag has a purpose and it is well-designed to be so compact and so useful. I will definitely use this for backpacking as well as skiing because it is much nicer than my other backpack!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice medium bag to have for a day trip in the Rocky Mountains. Good storage in the large, main pocket with many smaller, convenient pockets for easy access to things. Good quality in the materials, strong zippers and ties. Easy to get to attachments for skis or helmets! Lightweight even when loaded. Good hydration tank as well.
I love this backpack. Incredibly intentional design with a lot of thought and creativity. I am really petite and this pack fits so well, which is difficult for me to find, even working at a backcountry ski shop. Highly recommend.
Haven't had a chance to use it skiing but the ski carry strap works great, one handed operation as advertised. Excited to use it this coming season!
Fits beautifully, well-constructed and designed, useful features, very comfortable for backcountry cross country ski trips
