Solid climbing helmet
Pretty similar to the BD Half Dome, have spent multiple days in this thing without realizing it's on my head. Easy adjust sizing, straps aren't irritating, decent amount of venting holes, feels very solid. If you're looking for a climbing/mountaineering helmet and don't know where to start, start with the Cap or Half Dome

Not As Good As You Might Exxpect
This was the most recent helmet from Black Diamond that I purchased, they utilize the same head securing method as lighter Vector and Vision helmet, except this weighs significantly more. This leads, at least for me, that the helmet moves around and does not feel secure on my head. It also lacks any cushion on the apex of the head and so the hard sturdy plastic is very uncomfortable without a hat underneath. It is a shame that this is such a disappointment, I hope they improve it with time.

Great helmet with easy adjustment

This helmet was comfortable and kept my head feeling cool all day in the Colorado sun. I even wore my baseball cap under and it still worked out perfectly. It was so comfy I forgot I was wearing it over my cap as we hiked out and I thought I’d forgotten to pack it when we got back to the car and it was still on my head. I haven’t taken any falls in it, hut feel confident it’ll get the job done. The adjustments are easy to make, which is important to me. I have very long hair and sometimes like to put my hair into braids and this helmet makes it easy to make adjustments on the fly.

Versatile but not easy adjustment

I used this for rock climbing, for our modified Haute Route, and mixed climbing (ice, snow, rock climbing) in Swiss Alps. It is a good decent one but slightly heavy. It fits very well to protect the head, but the adjustment belt is very hard to change and tighten/loosen up the strap and I had to take the helmet off every time. When you're climbing / mix climbing you want to make sure you can adjust the helmet without the need of taking it on and off. I hated the fact that I had to take off both gloves to adjust it in the cold alpine weather. The strap was also tight and wish they design it longer. Would not recommend it.

The ONLY certified, rated helmet in hot pink that I trust to protect my daughter's noggin

The title says it all. I'm not gonna lie - my main objective for a helmet purchase for my daughter was to find one in hot pink. There are plenty out there, but none of them are from brands that I trust or that carried the necessary impact certifications for caving. While we have not used it yet, it fits fine, is lightweight, and I have full confidence in its performance. My only wish is that there was a slightly higher end helmet available in this same color (like the half dome at least), but that's no fault of the Capitan. The helmet is perfectly capable, it's just not fancy schmancy and chock full of features.

Game Changer

This helmet has disrupted the price:performance ratio of helmets, delivering outstanding quality and functionality at a very reasonable price point. The interior of this model seems the same as the MIPS model, minus the MIPS yellow insert; leaving some empty space, IMO. I simply filled those spaces in with cushiony Velcro pads from "The Depot" and got myself a sweet customized fit. It has wonderful comfort, super light, looks "cool" and seems like it would take a beating. My only regret is not getting it in my favorite color - Yellow. But with it on, I don't know what color it is anyway, right? Recommend highly!

Kind of heavy, and did not fit me properly

Bought this helmet for Mount Baker and unfortunately had to return. I have a 58cm head circumference, and the M/L just did not sit on my head. It was always loose and felt like a risk to be wearing. I am much happier with my Vapor. I purchased the appropriate size based on the helmet and size guide each time, and the Vapor was like a glove. To boot, this helmet was also noticeably heavier and I could feel the weight. Not for me!

Really wanted to like it, but volume is huge

The Half Dome M/L fits me well, but the Capitan M/L is for some reason way 'deeper'. As in, the curved portions above the ears actually cover part of my ears. The volume of the helmet seems to be much larger than the half dome. The smaller size is way too tight though. Something weird going on with the sizing (or my head). Guess I'll stick with the Half Dome.
