Great for beach camping.
Great for camping. Was warm, kept out the wind, and stayed dry.
Surprisingly warm blanket, lovely for wrapping up
I am surprisingly pleased with this blanket! I was looking for something with a higher wool content but decided the (sale) price was good enough. I’m really glad I chose it! It’s actually much warmer than I expected, but light and soft. It’s awesome that it’s machine washable and I plan on having it on the sofa or throwing it in the car. I was surprised that there’s a large tag sewed on that says Nat’l Geo, which accounts for my reduction in rating. The fringe on the edge makes me nervous it may not hold up long term, but it is really very nice for right now!
Warm & fun blanket
I thought the blanket was a bit overpriced at first but I had my eye on it for awhile and finally bought it. I do not regret it! This blanket is surprisingly warm and a decently thick material. It rolls into a nice size that is easy to carry around - I keep it in my car for whenever I may need a blanket! Also, the design is super cool.

A blanket for cold evenings
Softer and warmer than I expected. I have never bought anything made of recycled clothing before so I did not know what to expect. I love it and plan to buy one for each member of my family. It fits a full-size bed. I like the company's policy on giving back to the community.

Soft, warm, rich feel.
I first experienced the lovely warmth and softness of the Sackcloth & Ashes blankets (Nat'l Geog. only being one of the lines) when staying at a friend's. Honestly, I don't usually "fall in love" with "stuff", but this proved an exception. These blankets are simply nurturing. I chose mine for the colors and patterns, but there are many quite different in nature. I also liked the understanding that they use recycled materials.
Left out in the rain
I purchased this Sackcloth and ashes blanket to give as a gift. REI ruined these plans by leaving it on the wet ground outside my house, while it was raining. The box is soaked, the blanket is soaked, the tags attached to the blanket are soaked. In the future, I will not have anything delivered by REI. On second thought, I probably won't be buying anything from REI in the future. This was a pretty bad experience.
