Gentle, safe & easy-to-apply sunscreen for babies
It's hard to get sunscreen right, especially for little ones -- this one almost hits the spot for us. Despite the yellow tint, it's remarkably easy to rub in for a mineral sunscreen, which we really appreciate for a squirmy baby! We love that the ingredients are gentle and natural, and we quite like the scent. The sunscreen is a bit on the thicker side though, meaning it's challenging to squeeze through the tube, and it's a little greasier than we'd prefer. At the end of the day, however, effectiveness is what takes the cake, and we do believe it is keeping our baby's skin safe and protected! And a final bonus for us is that Badger is a family/women-run business whose mission and values align with ours.
The Last Sunscreen Brand You'll Ever Try
This sunscreen is like the Cadillac of sunscreens. I have tried dozens of mineral sunscreens for myself and my kids since finding out about the safety concerns of chemical sunscreens, and most leave a white residue on the skin and/or are thick and difficult to apply. I was skeptical about this stuff because it comes out of the tube pretty thick and oily, but it rubs into the skin so easily and makes it feel like you've just used a high quality lotion or cream. There was not even a trace of white residue on my baby's skin or my hands. So far, we've used it for a long day outside with a high amount of sun exposure and a few pool days. Its now a must have in our summer diaper bag. This sunscreen performs well, even with sweaty skin/water exposure and reapplications were very easy, which are both areas in which I've noticed other mineral sunscreens do not perform well. It also has a very mild aroma, unlike the distinct scent of traditional sunscreen. Overall, I am extremely happy with the performance of this sunscreen. It has all the safety benefits of mineral sunscreen, with the feel of an upscale cream on my baby's skin.
Great for gentle baby skin
My 13mo old has eczema and this lotion is gentle and creamy enough to not irritate her skin while still keeping her protected from the sun. I keep the tube in her diaper bag in case we end up out in the sun unexpectedly or for longer than expected. It’s a thick cream which I normally wouldn’t love but it helps me know my baby is well covered so in this case it’s appreciated. I use it for myself occasionally as well and it’s a bit greasy but not a huge deal. Smells nice, too. I love that the ingredients are safe and the company has great values.
Great sunscreen for little ones
A great sunscreen that's gentle for little ones. I really like that this is made with organic ingredients, which is important to me since my baby is still under 1. It goes on clear even though the sunscreen itself has a bit of a yellow tint. It doesn't smell like sunscreen which I also appreciate. My only gripe is that it is thick and hard to squeeze out of the tube. When compared to other mineral sunscreens it leaves a bit more of an oily residue on your hands and is a bit lower in SPF and water resistance minutes, but if you're looking for something organic this is a great option.
Nice sunscreen
Overall very nice sunscreen. It is quite thick but it spreads on nicely. I found it easier to ensure coverage in my 1 year old than other sunscreens. It also did not leave any white residue even after multiple applications on a hot day outside. My only complaint is that it was a bit greasy.
Almost perfect Zinc sunscreen!
*I received a free product in exchange for an honest review. This is a great sunscreen for kids and adults alike. It is the only Zinc-based sunscreen I have found that comes on clear, as opposed to completely white, which is a huge downside of Zinc sunscreen. I have been using it for my toddler and he goes to school looking normal rather than completely covered in white sunscreen! It also has a very subtle, pleasant smell unlike nearly all other sunscreens. It is very thick and has more of a paste-like consistency than a regular sunscreen cream. It leaves a bit of a greasy residue, but not significantly more than the average sunscreen. The downsides are that, because it is very thick, it is hard to get out of the tube initially--but after a few uses, it comes out significantly easier. Its consistency also makes it harder to spread, so you end up using a little more to get complete coverage. Also, the price tag is quite steep. The photos show the sunscreen right out of the tube, spread a bit, and rubbed in all the way.

I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I think this is a really good sunscreen. I exclusively use mineral sunscreen on my baby, and am trying to do the same for myself. It gives me peace of mind that it keeps my baby protected from the sun and also from harsh chemicals. This sunscreen is fairly thick, so that is the reason for taking off one star: it doesn't bother me hugely, but to achieve perfection, it would need to go on a little more easily. But that's a lot to ask from a mineral sunscreen!
Badger sunscreen does not disappoint.
I love Badger products in general and their baby sunscreen did not disappoint. As most first time moms I was nervous about putting sunscreen on my baby for the first time and Badger put me at ease. I’ve used their products on myself for years, and think they’re a superior brand. It is mineral sunscreen so I expected white residue and there is virtually none. I couldn’t even tell it was on my baby’s feet. I’d recommend Badger over other baby sunscreens by far.
Great Baby Sunscreen with Cleaner Ingredients
I love how smoothly this sunscreen goes on. It rubs in quickly, which is very important with little ones that don’t have much patience. I also like that there’s no bothersome scent and that the ingredients are cleaner than a lot of other sunscreens. It is a little greasier than I would like, but I still plan to keep using this sunscreen all summer for both baby and toddlers.
Finally! Clean and noncomedogenic sunblock
I spent a good 10 hours researching organic/clean AND noncomedogenic sunscreen for my face and after review of many many other blocks this was the only completely natural and non pore clogging product...and I absolutely love it!! it is thick but don't let that scare you, just need a little on the face and it offers enough. Once blended it offers a healthy glow..and I have somewhat oily skin. I've been on beach hours 4th of July and NO sunburn. It lasts hour and in water. I finally found my block!
