I’m very happy with the Badger 50 sunscreen. It lasts quite a long time, rubs into my skin without leaving giant white streaks, isn’t “oily” and it doesn’t irritate my eyes after sweating. All in all, the boxes are ticked! I use a lot of sunscreen, it shields me from the harmful effects of being yelled at by my wife for not using sunscreen (also cancer and stuff). I get sun exposure everyday; I backcountry ski, do a lot of glacier travel, ride bikes, trail run, climb, etc. Sunscreen really is something that affects my enjoyment of the outdoors on a daily basis. I’ve found the primary issues are not lasting very long, not offering good protection, eye irritation and difficulty with thorough and even application. This stuff from Badger really doesn’t have any of those issues. It’s a solid 50 SPF for sure, I’ve found it lasts longer than the time listed on the tin (about half a day), rubs in clean and easily without leaving white streaks everywhere and staining my closes and it has no scents or anything like that so it doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes. Of course, reef/water ways safe is a must and this is as well. I really like this, it has replaced my old go to and I only wish it came in a smaller tin to make it more convenient for on the go use. I scooped some out and put in my own mini tin and it works great.

Worst sunscreen I have ever purchased. Period.
The review title says it all. This stuff is horrible. Not only is it definitely not SPF 50, it never fully absorbs into your skin, leaving a white streaky residue all over you. I sat there and rubbed my arms, face, and legs for over ten minutes, and I still had white streaks everywhere. Embarrassing. On top of this, I still got sunburned. When I returned home hours later from being outside, I took a shower and could not get this stuff to come off of my skin. I showered twice and to no avail. As a matter of fact, I could still smell it on my skin after I had bathed. I had to wait overnight and naturally let it disappear into my skin while I was sleeping. Finally, the following evening I was able to get all of it off of me with another shower. This should never happen. EVER. This is the worst experience I have ever had with sunscreen. If you're reading this, save your money and don't buy this garbage.

AMAZING!

Received free product

I love this product! At first I was a little concerned about the waxy look, that it would melt in my pack but even in the high heat it kept firm! It came out super smooth and left just a clear coat that lasted for a few hours! It felt very lightweight on my skin almost like i had nothing on! Even in the water it held up for a good hour!

Great sustainable sunscreen

Received free product

This sunscreen is great. I love that it comes in a tin can that can be washed and reused when I'm done. The zinc spreads on clearly and it's easy to travel with. It feels a little oily at first but then feels normal after a minute. I have sensitive skin and have used this on my face and body with no issues. The ingredients are all natural and I like that it's good for the environment.

Small package, big protection

Received free product

I used this to go to the beach after already being sun burned. It worked great on top of previous burns. It is a little greasy and not the easiest to get out of the tin. It is like using lip balm. But all I. All a good smooth product. And it doesn’t take a lot to protect you.

Solid, hard working product

Received free product

Pretty good product for a solid sunscreen. Has a slight white cast and stays on your skin, but that's par for the course for a water resistant SPF 50. I got caught in a rainstorm while I was walking dogs at the animal shelter and even after hours of sweating in the sun, the rain just ran off my arms and shoulders, so it appeared to be water resistant for me even after the 90 minutes. It's more of a wax than a cream so you have to smush it to get it out of the tin. I bought a different brand about 5 years ago and it had a grainy finish whereas this has a super smooth finish. For how long-lasting this stuff is I was surprised at how non-comedogenic it was, I haven't had any breakouts.

Great Eco-Friendly Sunbock

Received free product

This is an effect sunblock that stood up well on several hot and humid summer days. It doesn't have any scent and was easy to apply without leaving any residue like most lotions. I primarily used this on my face as I wasn't a huge fan of the disk form and the time it took to apply but I truly appreciated avoiding one of my largest pet peeves: Sunscreen getting in the eye.

Effective, Compact, and Essentially Without Scent

Received free product

This is a great sunscreen for protection in the heat and intense sunlight of Houston, which means it should work anywhere. The packaging is compact and it has almost no scent. Drawbacks is that I found it difficult to apply - it seems like it would be better packaged as a roll-on product. It is also difficult to rub in completely, so there is some white residue unless you work on it a long time. Overall, this is an effective and compact sunscreen solution that I would recommend.

Nice for small areas where you need unscented

Received free product

Pro: plastic-free packaging, no scent (like really no scent at all!), marine-safe Con: tough to apply - a bit messy and had to really dig to get it out and then work hard to make sure it was rubbed in and that I wasn’t missing spots. Not great for kids - either a lot of work for an adult to apply on a kid, or big opportunity for error/missed spots/sunburn if a kid applies it on their own.

Best sunscreen: clear Zinc Oxide, not messy

I have been using sunscreens conscientiously since I was diagnosed with melanoma 24 years ago. I’ve lost count as to how many I’ve tried. Badger 50 is clear & stays on reliably. No more white face for me. The bonus is my face stays hydrated & is smoother after I wash it off. I used it all summer & have 1/2 can left.

Does what it’s supposed to do

It’s a reef safe mineral sunscreen. Apply generously and often and you won’t get burned. Because it’s a mineral sunscreen, it does leave a faint white cast but not worse than other sunscreens. Unscented which is a huge plus in bear country.
