No ghost face!

I’m a black woman who has been looking for years for a mineral facial sunscreen that won’t leave a gross white cast on my face. I picked this up totally on whim while shopping in-store and I was shocked at how well it works. It’s nice and silky, goes on really smooth and rubs in super well. It does leave a very slight white cast, but I think the nature of mineral sunscreen and my dark complexion probably means I’ll never be able to totally avoid that. But it’s barely noticeable and I’m really happy with that! I took off a star for the fact that it comes in a plastic tube, would love to see it in a more recyclable aluminum container or a compostable cardboard push tube!

Highly recommended compact sunscreen.

I love this sunscreen! It’s compact so I keep it on me at all times and comes in handy whenever I need a quick sunscreen application. Driving, hikes, the beach, camping. I use it primarily for my face, lips and shoulders and glides on perfectly. I also have sensitive skin so I appreciate the clean ingredients and that they have an unscented option. No sticky residue and really does go on clear.

Convenient stick, goes on thick

So, first the good: it's a small, compact sunscreen stick that easily fits into any bag/backpack/fanny pack/glovebox. It's impossible to "spill" as the product is solid. And for someone who spills a lot, this is a welcome attribute. It goes on easily; I used it for targeted deployment on my tattoos (both old and new) and feel good using SPF 30 on these sensitive areas instead of my regular 15. It definitely works, although I deliberately ONLY used it on my tattoos and I don't mind a little sun on the rest of me. The less good: it doesn't go on clear as you can see from the photos. It soaks in after a bit and I feel good about the protection, but it is a little pasty. I wouldn't use it on my face for this reason. Also, the thing is difficult to get open on first use. Like a chapstick top but the plastic wrap on it was really hard to take off. Hardly a dealbreaker, or even a "deal", but still more annoying that it needed to be. TLDR: good for targeted application on sensitive areas: neck, ears, tattoos, face if you don't mind thicker, visible protection.

No more greasy hands after applying sunscreen.

I threw this in my car so I would have some sunscreen while I’m on the go. This is my first experience with a sunscreen stick, and I have to say that I like it. It is nice to be able to apply sunscreen without getting my hands greasy with sunscreen residue. I would absolutely take this on a backpacking trip for that reason. The Badger sunscreen is odorless and provided me with good sun protection while taking my dog for long walks in the Tennessee heat. It felt good on my skin and provided hours of protection. The extreme heat of leaving it in the car made the sunscreen stick melt into a different shape one day, but I left it in a vertical position in my cup holder the next day and it melted back into place. This is a handy product to have around!

Great smooth sunscreen!!

This sunscreen is great. It was super smooth and doesn’t pull on my skin or my 1 year old’s skin when I apply it. I like that it is unscented- really no scent at all!!! The smooth texture and ease with application means I’ll definitely buy it again. Bonus is it is small and can be tucked anywhere like a backpack or diaper bag.

Great little to-go sunscreen

This sunscreen stick is a great easily packable item. I took it day hiking and it was perfect for sunscreen touch ups at the half-way point. It is slightly larger than a lip balm. It is mineral based but does not leave a noticeable white sheen (at least on Caucasian skin) and can also be used as a lip protectant. It is reef safe so great for those Hawaii trips. This will be my go to for day hikes/kayaks/biking adventures because it’s small but gets the job done.

Great product, definitely will buy again!

Super happy with the Badger sunscreen and would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy. I usually wouldn't write a review around sunscreen but this one deserves it. First off, super clean which made my wife very happy. Not a lot of ingredients and the ones in there are much more natural than your typical lotion. So good for you and the environment. Second, the unscented is actually that, unscented. Third and my favorite is that it isn't near as greasy as others I've used in the past. I do a lot of biking/running and usually don't wear sunscreen partially because I hate the greasy feel. You can still feel this, but it's much less noticeable. It's also been so nice for our kids and my wife brings this everywhere. So easy to keep in the bag and just pull it out when you need it. Sturdy, convenient packaging.

Can't even tell it's on! Great for the face.

Really enjoyed using this sunscreen on my face. It does not create a ghost face like some other zinc based products, and it super easy to apply unlike other stick applicators. Even in hot and sweaty situations, it did not run into my eyes which made for a great overall experience.

Sticky mess

I purchased this last minute before an eight-day backpack trip to the Wind River Range. I chose this because of the stick configuration. This sunscreen has a sticky consistency that is almost impossible to spread. It accumulated on the hem of my shorts and had to be scraped off before washing. I had to use a strong degreaser to remove it from my shorts and shirt. The only positive characteristics of this product are that it was effective for sun protection, and it did not have an obnoxious odor. I do not recommend this product. REI should remove this from their shelves.

Love the stick

The size of the stick is much larger than I thought, which is great. I sweat a LOT when I am active, so to have a more solid sunscreen that is also water resistant is super cool. There's no rubbing in necessary, it just sits on your skin beautifully. I would buy again for sure.
