Wonderful & comfortable garden work boots
These are great rain/work boots! They're easy to slip on/off, are true to size, keep your feet super dry in the rain and the arch support was good too which I don't usually find in boots of this style. I bought them because Erin from Floret loves then and I think they'll be perfect for gardening. I gave them four stars because I wore them as my rain boots in NYC on an afternoon we were seeing a show and my feet would fall asleep when I was seated on the drive over and during the show. So, they're not my top pick for rain boots as a result BUT I think they'll def be my top pick for work boots - as long as you're moving they're great (and easy to clean).
So disappointed
I have a pair of the wide calf boots that were heaven the moment I put them on. The heel sunk in and cushioned from day one. For this year I thought I would order a shorter boot so I could wear them into spring but sadly bogs has cheaped out and these boots are horrible 2023! The inserts are hard as rocks and the boots are super super narrow, feels like it's strangling my foot from all sides. I've been a champion of bigs boots for years but I guess now I'm going to have to go shopping for a new farm boot company. This is what happens when a company starts making fashion boots instead of good comfortable work boots.

Bogs are all I wear in winter.
I love Bogs for Northern MN winters. The traction is a bit lackluster and I do tend to slip on the iced over roads and trails. But the comfort and ease of wearing these boots outweighs my wish for better traction. I wear them to walk my dog, I wear them on low-mileage winter hikes. They are always warm and comfortable. Unfortunately, my coonhound also loves them and wants to chew them no matter where I try to put them. This pair was chewed less than a week after I got them and they replaced a pair that was also chewed by this devil. Maybe make them more unappealing to my dog and I will give them 5 stars. (Kidding)
Would buy them again!!!
These boots run large. I may have been able to gone down a size but I have not have any issues with the extra room in the boot. I LOVE THEM! These are easy to slip into, really nice to wear with any socks and very comfortable. They replaced my Sorel Caribou boots which just felt way too heavy as I walked and I'm glad I made the switch. The sole is thick, and soft. I walk about a mile at a time, at least once a day, and have no issues. They are large and definitely look like chore boots, not 'going out' attire, but they are exactly what I was looking for. They run HOT, and if its over 60 they can be too hot if worn for more then a quick trip through the yard. GREAT and worth the cost.
Great, lightweight yard boot
Love these ones! I have 5 pair of Bogs-all shapes and styles-from winter to rain to muck boots. These are the newest and they fit exactly what I got them for-yard work. I have only tried them in this cold winter season in Western NY, so i can't speak to their breathability, or fit with thinner socks, in the milder parts of the year. But right now, they have been great. Easy to slip on/off, lightweight. For regions with lots of snow like ours, tall snow has gotten into the roomy calf of boot, so I make sure to wear pants that tuck over the boots if I'm mucking around, or I wear my taller Bogs.
Buying my 3rd pair
These are my holy grail work boots! I'm purchasing my 3rd pair and I average around 3-5 years of HEAVY DUTY use. I have Huge garden and floral growing operations the wet PNW, we have gravel pathways that Obliterate the tread on most normal shoes in 3-6 months. These boots hold up remarkably well and I wear them comfortably about 10 months of the year ( they're a bit warm in July and August) I do wish that half sizes were available ( and please don't stop them at 9! Half sizes the full range) and more patterns but I hope they never change these! easy to step into and they're easy enough to take off mostly hands free, too. I recommend them to anyone who spends a lot of time in the muck and mud!
Poor fit
I’ve wanted these shoes to work multiple times since I’ve always lived in cold snowy places (Alaska and Colorado) and these would be ideal when snow starts to melt and it’s still cold out. But I cannot get the sizing right. I’m a standard size 7, regular width, and rarely have issues with shoes size. I ordered size 7 and they were too small with my toes rubbing the front of the boot, but super wide in the ankles, and kinda wobbly (almost like wearing Dansko’s with little side-to-side support). I then ordered an 8 and the fit was still off.. too big and same issue with the width. The shoe platform is rather thick and heavy. Overall, not for me. Would very much recommend trying these on in person.
Where have you been all my life!
I LOVE these boots!! I live on a Virginia farm and these boots are exactly what I was looking for. Waterproof is a must! They are so easy to put on and take off and keep my feet toasty on those cold mornings when I have to let the chickens out at dawn. They have a roomy toe box. I wear a size 8.5 shoe and bought the size 9 boot. With a thin sock there's a little extra room, but they do not rub. With a thick sock they fit perfectly. I have tried on many different boots and none are as comfortable as these.
Great boot, wish there were half-sizes
I mainly use this boot for volunteering with animals (my main reason for ordering), beach walks and muddy trail walks. The boot itself is great, durable and mostly comfortable. My only complaint (after just a few weeks of use) is that half sizes aren't available in this particular style. I normally wear a 9.5 and originally ordered a 10, based on reviews I saw saying they ran a bit small. The 10 was definitely too big for me, so I crossed my fingers and sent them in to exchange for a 9. While the 9 just barely fits, I could use a tad more room at the toe. Will see how this slight rubbing plays out over time, but has been tolerable so far. Overall a great boot that I would currently recommend to others.
winter in wisconsin
It's been a brutal winter in Wisco this year, but BOGS are always up for the challenge. I love the pretty spring leaf pattern and the feminine touch it adds. I wear a 6.5 or 7 shoe, and the 6 fits fine, even with a heavier sock. The 10 inch shaft of this "mid " style is perfect for me. ( I'm 5 -4 ) as is the dark blue color. These boots are warm, waterproof, and comfy right from the start. They pull on easy with the side "handles", and look great with jeans or leggings tucked in. I really like that they are seamless, cushioned , and lighter than other waterproof boots.
