i have 2 holes in the back heels after only 100 miles of running
I am an avid road runner and am trying to get into trail running. I bought these shoes to try out on some nearby ski hills. Today I went for a 2 miles walk on flat ground and got some blisters on my heels. Maybe shame on me for wearing ankle socks? but I have never had issues with shoes + ankle socks like this before. Especially on an easy 2 mile walk. I'll keep wearing them (with taller socks and see how they work, but, my first reaction is: yikes.)
Saucony is my favorite brand I’ve switched back and forth from the peregrines to the xodus since the peregrine 6. I have 3 pairs of current saucony, a really old peregrine 7 (hot pink) many many Trail running and hike miles,-unknown at this point xodus 10 (black) middle shoe 700 miles and my most recent peregrine 12 -400 miles, no running, only hiking. in the past the shoe tread on my sauconys outlasted the shoe material due to the way I torque my feet. Each newer model I buy the tread is lesser than the previous model and I’ve been slipping on Trail. I’m about to buy xodus ultra but I’m really hoping at some point you get back to the longer lasting tread on the shoes. That was the best feature.
First of all I am not a runner, just a skinny old lady that has been wearing Saucony running shoes exclusively since about 1978. I was always physically active and loved the way I felt while wearing a running shoe, and for whatever reason Saucony always gave me the perfect fit. However these guys just did not fit anything like the past 7-8 pairs. The tongue is much thinner material on these and after tying them, the upper lace really dug into my ankle. The shoe was also loose at the back of the heel and slipped. Maybe real runners spend more time lacing their shoes. I really don’t know, but I am looking for a different Saucony.
I've long been on the hunt for good trail running shoes with a toe box wide enough to accommodate my sharp toe bones. I've tried Merrell, Altra, Salomon, and many other good brands to no avail. The design of these shoes caught my eye, so I took a gamble on Saucony and I'm so pleased that I did! The Women's 9 Wide fits like a glove, no weird pressure points or any necessity for a "breaking-in" period. Not only that, but they feel so natural on both dirt and pavement! I'm loving the neutral black/gray color too since that's another rarity to find in women's shoes these days. I think I'll be turning to Saucony first from now on!
Honestly, the best pair of trail shoes I’ve run in. I love the fit and feel of the Peregrine 12s. I usually have to really break a pair of shoes in before they feel nice and comfortable but these shoes have felt amazing from day one! I have about a 150k on them this past month already and can’t stop telling my trail friends how they need to try them for themselves! Now hook these bad boys up with a boa dial!!!!
These are the worst shoes I have ever had from Saucony. I had a trail run race and about a fourth mile I a blister. By the end of the race, another bleeding blister appeared on my another foot. I am very disappointed with these shoes. I will not recommend these shoes to any of my friends. If I could, I would get my money back.
The soles of the shoe are not durable for trail running. The stripe in the heel tears apart from the rest of the sole and collects rocks. Not very comfortable. I've put about 50 miles on these shoes on the trail and am not impressed with the lack of durability. Not a wear and tear issue, a design flaw.
had the Peregrine 11s, which I loved. The Peregrine 11s lasted me nearly 800 miles on the trail. So I thought I’d try the Peregrine 12s next, but they completely split on the sides after just 150 miles/about three and a half weeks of daily use on the trail. I was extremely disappointed. Good trail running shoes shouldn’t fall apart after only 150 miles of actual trail running use! Absolutely terrible durability. Would not purchase if you are actually planning to use them for trail running.
Felt comfortable throughout my two day excursion in Hawaii. Shoes felt narrow at first but stretched out after a couple hours of wear. Color so beautiful.
