Warm, comfortable boots, but size down 1/2 size
I took these boots out on two 90-minute excursions and found them to be quite comfortable and warm. The Quicklace system and rigid touring cuff is a worthwhile upgrade from the regular Escape Prolink boot. In this model, I recommend paying more attention to the EU sizing and moving down a size. In running shoes I typically wear a 10.5 or 11, but even with a thick wool sock I developed a heel blister while wearing the Escape Plus Prolink boot in UK size 10 (US 10.5 / EU 45). I tend to wear EU size 44, so I'm moving down to the UK size 9.5 (US 10 / EU 44). I am willing to risk a slightly tighter fit because the boot will break in slightly during use and it already features an slightly wider toebox. On a personal note, I prefer a more athletic/rigorous skiing style which requires a tighter boot fit, so this advice may not apply to users with different approaches to Nordic skiing. Happy trails!
Just Terrific
I’ve mostly skied in old-style lace up leather boots, so anything is going to be remarkable by comparison. I’ve also only been out once with them, so take this for what it’s worth. Qualifications aside, these are extremely comfortable and easy to to put on and get tight for skiing. My feet are wider than average and often suffer cramping in many ski boots. These seemed a tad wider off the shelf and after a fairly brisk hour and a half, they felt like I’d used them for years. No cramping. No rub points. They fit perfect. My feet are an 8.5 US men’s and the size 42 were perfect.
Strap screws up zipper with heavy use
Only issue is that after a thousand miles plus of skiing the strap damages the zipper, so if you ski miles every skiable day you won’t get more than 1+ seasons out of it. Great boot otherwise, warm and comfortable. Also, I suggest not tightening the strap a lot.
great fit
not to big or small. Surprisingly fits well right out of the box and work great with my new Rossignal skis
Great ski boots!
Extremely comfortable, good padding, nice supportive boot. I am using these exclusively for groomed track skiing, and they perform great. I still use my 3 pin backcountry boots for trailbreaking and telemarking. The coldest I have used these boots is +10 degrees F, and my feet stayed nice and warm. Love these boots!
Very Happy with my purchase.
It was so easy to order on the website and have my boots sent to the store for easy pick up.
