Latt Looses Insulation properties

After less than a year of wearing this jacket it lost its insulation warmth. I washed per instructions used tennis balls to make sure it puffs and it didn't puff in certain places. At 55 degrees I feel cold wearing it outside. I am an avid runner, hiker, and new it worked great even in 32 degress at 9K feet Mt Shasta CA. But after a few washes well good bye insulation. Disappointing since it really is one of the best fits in terms of jackets. I wanted something that doesn't get flat in case I got rained on while hiking and it does a decent job.

Great Under Rain Jacket for Rainy Hikes

I needed a down layer to stick underneath my Fjallraven rain jacket, and this did the trick. I went with a S instead of my usual XS and at first thought it was too big, but once I add one or two thick sweaters underneath, it fits well. The rain jacket is keep over it is actually an XS and that works well - helps compress the down layer against my body, which is helpful when I only have a flannel on underneath. For reference, I am 5'8" and 125lbs with an straight, athletic build. I believe the size chart to be accurate, and this jacket TTS, based on the measurements indicated, for a comfortable fit. Size up if you want to fit in more layers underneath and move easily while hiking. I could still wear a sweater under the XS, but it was definitely more form-fitting.

What You Might Expect

I was hesitant to buy this. I have never been into the puffy jacket trend. But I wanted a jacket with some water resistance that could be good for activity in cold weather. I do thunk it's a nice jacket, and the hood is wonderfully designed. Unfortunately, like all Fjallraven, it's a solid size too small. I'm not tiny, and I have a larger chest, so I couldn't practically wear this because in any layer heavier than a t, I can't zip it. I spoke to Fjallraven employees about sizing before, and one of them lamented that the only pants she could wear were there leggings. I'll have to exchange it, which is unfortunate because REI doesn't carry the hooded womens Northface Thermoball, so I'm back at square one.

Love this!

It's not as warm as a 800 fill down jacket, but it is an excellent fall jacket. Fits well and I can move with no tightness or pulling anywhere. Sleeves are perfect. I am 5' 2" and 130 lbs. 34b. I typically take a small in LL Bean jackets but in this jacket the MED fit well.

Great Town Jacket

I bought this jacket to wear flying between Alaska and California, as well as running around town. The fit is perfect for a Medium. I thought it would be a little more insulated, but it is comparable to a nano puff. For living in Alaska, it is a keeper!

Fit good but not great

I have not worn this outside yet, so I can’t speak to the quality of the jacket itself. I’m quite small (5’2”, 97 lbs) and have been looking for an xxs puffer jacket to wear a) in the in-between Minnesota seasons when my negative temperatures coat is too hot, and b) when I visit the PNW where I often go on rainy hikes. I also wanted something that would pack easily, for that reason. I couldn’t find many places that sell xxs coats. Patagonia, arc’teryx and fjallraven were the only brands I could find that sold what I was looking for. I decided on this one, since reviews said it ran small and it’s less expensive than other options. The torso of this coat fits great. It’s somewhat fitted and true to size. However, the arms are too long. Another odd thing is that the forearms are nicely fitted, but the upper arms are very wide and puffy; it looks weird to have the torso and forearms fitted and then to also have Michelin man upper arms. Like other reviewers, I would also say this is very lightweight. The hood is also nicely fitted on me (although I have a small head).

a little disappointed

I bought this jacket as an everyday coat for walking around town. It wasn't until a good rain storm that I realized this was not waterproof. The description says it's good for wet weather but really they meant it's a layer not a outer layer The black color was a little bluish looking It's a warm layer I've had it a year and the packet ripped at the zipper seam

didn’t love the cut

The jacket seemed very good quality. I’m normally a small, but the small looked like a medium on me. I tried an extra small, but it looked and felt a bit boxy on me. Ended up exchanging it for an Outdoor Research coat that was more slim-fitting.
