Lots of things go through my mind when I run, whether it’s training or during a race. Since adopting the Saucony Triumph as my shoe of choice, one thing never on my mind anymore is sore, hurt, blistered feet. As a matter of fact, I never think of my feet at all…always golden now. I haven’t had shin splints or any other issues either that plagued me before, and I’m truly grateful. I like the pink and reds as a colorway for men, so Saucony, more creativity and bold colors are all I ask for. :) Thank you!
First transition to a pair of Saucony Triumphs for running. Typically wear Brooks Glycerin. First if you are a Glycerin wearer the Brooks sizing seems to be 1/2 larger than the saucony. I wear a 9 regular in Glycerin and had to go to an 8.5 regular in the triumph. I also have the Saucony Excursion and the Saucony Canyon TR and those I wear a size 9. After 100 miles on the Triumph and would have to say that the comfort and cushion is good. Shoe is snug on the foot and the shoe seems to not roll as much on the outside of the shoe as the Glycerin. At this point I would have to say I am preferring them over the Glycerins. The only big negative I would have to say is the laces are way too long and they are pretty cheap and junky. Both laces have completely fallen apart after a week of just wearing them to run on roads and sidewalks. The laces throughout are fraying and lost composure and now in spots are about 1” wide. There is no way around it, I will have to buy new laces.
Literally only worn these a couple times and they’re already falling apart. Never had such a bad quality in a shoe. I fill ripped off. I bought 2 pairs, haven’t worn the others yet but knowing that they disintegrate after a couple days makes me regret the purchase.
I have worn these shoes four times since fedex dropped them off last week (hundred bucks for boxing day). Three of those were progressively personal best times in 5k recreational runs. This morning was my first time beating a 25 minute 5k. I am 57 years old and have been running for about four months in Nike Air Max 90s. The Triumph 19 has me more than a minute faster. I only recently started paying attention to cadence which is definitely helping but the ergonomics of the Triumph 19 also helps me to be more aware of what my feet are doing. They feel fairly cushy which is not going to make me super fast but it is good for day to day purposes
Thank you for sharing your experience Brad! We appreciate the feedback.
Excellent shoe, great cushioning without feeling to soft.
Pros: - Heel collar and tongue are nice and soft and plush - you can tie the laces tight without any pressure points - Midsole cushioning also nice and plush but not squishy, still has some responsiveness - Relatively light for a shoe that is this well-cushioned - Outsole has pretty good grip on wet roads Cons: - Narrow enough that the lateral sides of my pinky toes were starting to go numb after 7 miles. For context, I typically wear 9.5 medium but I intentionally got these in 9.5 wide knowing that Sauconys run narrow...if you have average width feet, you may want to go with the wide AND even consider going up a half size.
I bought them less than 3 months ago and am very disappointed. The sole is really comfortable and durable. But the upper is not worth the price. It wore out in less than 3 months and under 350km.
I’d give these 4.5/5 stars if I could but chose to round down to 4 stars instead of giving them the full 5 stars. Overall, I really like the shoes for easier days/garbage miles. They’re comfortable but not overall cushioned to where I feel like I can’t pick it up at all. More like a very cushioned daily trainer than a max cushioned shoe in my opinion. However, as comfortable as these are on foot, the laces drive me insane. They’re weirdly stretchy which I just find annoying and a little difficult to lock my heel down completely. I have the endorphin speeds as well, and think the 2 pair well together. Overall I recommend these but would change out the laces.
I am an avid Saucony shoe fan. I have ran in Saucony shoes for over 10 years, including the last 3 models of Triumph shoes. I also use Kinvara and Endorphins. These Triumph 19's are the worse Saucony product that I have ever owned. I have ran less than 100 miles in the shoes and both uppers are torn for no apparent reason. These are being used on gravel roads and sidewalks. I typically get 450+ miles out of Triumphs in the same exact conditions. While these are comfortable and stable, the upper simply is not durable.
Tried several different kinds of running shoes before I settled with the Triumph and they definitely help with my bad knees. My knees were hurting so much that I wouldn’t run to catch a train before I started running several years ago in my early 50’s. Now I do 13 - 15 km every run (I run once every 2 days) and these shoes help to reduce the knee pain (they still hurt a bit) and allow me to keep running. I highly recommend them to people with knee pain (for what it’s worth I probably wrecked my knees when I practiced Muay Thai when I was young and foolish with all these committed roundhouse kicks on the heavy bag).
