Boxy & spacious - love the wheels
I never had a cooler with wheels before and wow, this is nice! Performance – the walls feel a bit thinner than other standard coolers I have but the insulation performance was very much comparable to two other coolers at a 4th of July BBQ. The boxy shape makes less surface area to volume ratio which improves insulation performance over a typical long narrow cooler. Shape – I like the boxy shape – it is very spacious and you can stand things up in it. Inside measurements are 16.5” wide x 16.5” high (14” high above the step) x 14.25 deep (front to back). The height measurements would be with lid closed. Lid – there is no latch, however the lid does fit very snugly and almost snaps shut. Durability – the body feels very durable. The handle and wheels are not robust, but if you’re not super rough with it, they should do fine and hold up over reasonably rough terrain. Makes a sturdy seat! Photos – I added some angles that were not included in the description as well as my measurements of the inside. Bottom line - overall, it's a cooler. Price is a bit high and the insulation is pretty average. I like the form factor and the eco materials are a plus.
Great cooler
Keeps things cold! Retains ice well. Fourteen lbs of ice lasted about three days in temps ranging from mid 50s to low 80s. It’s nice and tall and works well as a seat. The handle makes transporting easy on pavement and grass. Made in the USA with recycled material. What more could you ask for in a cooler?
New cooler for the van
The Coleman cooler we bought 9.5 years ago for shopping in Arizona has worked well (after foaming the lid) but showing it's age. This Igloo just fits between the front seats of my 1998 Ford Club Wagon. And it is a couple inches taller that the Coleman making the perfect armrest height. It is accessible while seated. Since getting it I have only used the freezer gel bags inside a lightly insulated reflective shopping bag. It has held cold temps (the bags aren't all squishy) for up to 3 days in 100+F temps. And for the first 24 hours any frozen items stay frozen.
LATITUDE 90 ROLLER MAXCOLD
The big black handle broke off on the first use, and I can't find a replacement. I had it stored away and on first use wasn't good, didn't even have the amount of cans it claims to hold.
Not bad
The Good: Packs neatly, Rolls well, East to handle, Perfect height for a temporary seat/end table, Cup holders well designed. The not-so-good: On a three day trip with frozen water bottles and 2 bags of ice, I feel that it lost more ice volume than it should. It only retained about 25% of the ice I put in it, even though it was ~70 degrees dropping to 45 at night. Cooler was kept protected from direct sunlight though it was opened frequently (water/beer). Ultimately, it was a good purchase when bought on sale at about $70. It makes a great weekend cooler or backyard cooler, but I wouldn’t advise it for longer trips in higher temps.
Tall cooler that holds A LOT
Ok I love the shape of this cooler that is thin and tall, rather than low and long. At the end of the trip when you have less stuff, you can pack it half full and stuff stays where you want it rather than sloshing all around. I find it much easier for packing in my car too. You do have to pack well since stuff will get buried in the bottom when it is full. The wheels are key, since it can get pretty heavy! Love the green color too
Good cooler but doesn't fit in the car
Overall a really good cooler. Sturdy and keeps things cool as long as one would expect it to. Generous size but due to the wheels the interior is not rectangular which can be an issue depending on what you are trying to pack. Thanks to the wheels it is easy to transport on foot over relatively smooth ground for a person who would otherwise be challenged having to carry it. The biggest problem for us was that due to its strange dimensions (fairly tall for its size) it is not that easy to transport by car. It does not fit into the trunk of a Honda Accord but instead we have to put it on the back seat.
Great size
The 60qt cooler is the perfect size for a weekend trip. The wheels and telescopic handle were very convenient as we used it at a walk-in site; without them it would have been too heavy at this size to want to carry by yourself. Was able to keep everything cool over a weekend trip and the leftover beer was still ice cold on the following Monday when I went to clean up. The one downside is I wish it had some sort of latch or spot to put a lock to make it critter proof.
Good insulation but a little awkward
Igloo coolers have been a staple in our house since I was a kid so I was excited to review this new one. The cup holders on the lid are a perfect chair-level making the cooler a good "table". The condensation cutouts are well designed and appreciated. The side handles are nicely flush with the lid, but it would be helpful if they extended down a little further with hand indentation underneath for a better grip. For such a thick, sturdy cooler the retractable handle seems awkward and flimsy. The lid is heavy and can slam from the raised position if bumped. Overall (except for the handle) this cooler is well built and should last a long time. It took almost four days for 30 pounds of ice to completely melt in the cool shade.
Poor handle design
I bought this three months ago and the handle can not take the weight of ice and bottle water. Handle broke off where it is attached to cooler. Will not buy this again. Upside the cooler did keep drinks cold.
