Cool! Neat tool and goo prepper item.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very little instructions came with this lighter, but then again, it's very simple to use. It came uncharged, so I plugged it in. Took very little time until it was fully charged. However, I have not used it over 100x yet to see if it really does allow you to light up that many times before you have to re-charge. I like the paracord that comes with it because you can tie the paracord to the lighter and hang it around your neck or onto other gear. The charging cord, however, is cumbersome to drag around with you and there's no way to "attach" it to the item so it's always with the item. That being said, I'm sure if you're in the wild and using this item a lot, then you already have a similar cord with you and a solar charging station, so it's a moot point. Just push the button and it lights up and catches anything on fire that you touch the electric flame to. Light is super, super bright and it's enabled by HOLDING the 'on' button for 3+ seconds. Snap closure, too, so it doesn't open accidentally. Really handy and good-to-have item in your prepper or camping supplies.
Cool tool
Actually really cool, instead of going through and wasting lighters that might not work in wind I think this is a great product if it lasts. Would recommend to my friends
Impractical
Two issues yield this impractical for use in the field. To ignite anything, the lighter must be touching the object perfectly and be underneath it since there is no actual flame and it doesn't work upside-down. You must be able to crawl in a firepit or fireplace to use it. Second, although it is supposed to ignite many times on one charge, you might get a dozen or so lights that are of a duration long enough to actually ingnite anything. Since it takes so many attempts to light something, it is useless for backpacking or camping without the ability to keep it charged. I would return it, but used a small point balance for it.
Great features!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lighter is pretty cool. It’s nice to have to be able to start a fire in any weather. It has a waterproof case. It comes with a tinder cord lanyard that is three foot long. It also has a light on the other end. Which has three settings. There is low, high and strobe. It’s very light and compact. It fits right in your pocket. It comes with a charging cord. It takes a couple hours to fully charge. Then has many many uses.
Fuel Free Fire Starter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Fuel Free Lighter is such a neat little gadget to have. I'm always that person who has a dead "tossable" fuel lighter. The great thing about this lighter is that even if it's not charged, it's an easy fix. This lighter is simple to use at a push of a button and no fuel is needed. It holds a charge well when not being used. Also doubles as a flashlight and has a rubber grip plus rope lanyard. Have used the lighter to start a few fires in the firepit and to light a few candles. This is a great dependable gadget for our power outage prep kit. It's also great that it charges by USB cable and not some special cable. Everyone has a USB cable at home or in their emergency prep kit.
Great little lighter!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this lighter will be mostly used on camping trips. I love that it can be used in all weather conditions, but want to add a disclaimer that we haven't tried using it in rain or very windy conditions yet. So let's start with the built in flash light- it has 3 modes (high, low, strobe) and it is BRIGHT. I was pleasantly surprised by this. We used the lighter to burn a piece of paper, and the paper lit up immediately. Personally, I'm a fan of this already because I burn myself with normal lighters. The cord that comes with the lighter can be used as tinder, so it serves a dual purpose. One thing we wished was different was that the charger was a "c" type, more universal. You'll notice when you go to charge it, the lighter cap has to be opened. I do not like that, however, there is a safety feature that you cannot turn the lighter on while it's charging. Overall, this product is awesome and would be a great gift for someone who loves to camp or be in the outdoors.
Useful tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great camping or survival lighter. The lighter starts fires easily because of the crossed arcs at the top. There’s a tinder cord lanyard to tie the lighter on and in case of an emergency. On the opposite end of the lighter there’s a flashlight. There’s a 3 hour battery life on the flashlight.
Great Primary Lighter
I’ve had a plasma lighter in the past. This one doubles the lighting elements, and adds a quality flashlight, while keeping the size/weight the same. Lasts through a whole week of fire and stove lighting. I think of this lighter as my primary fire source and the light as my backup. For solo backpacking trips, this little tool brings a lot of piece of mind. Appears to be water proof, based on the seals I see, but I haven’t tested it.
No light lighter
Unfortunately, for the cost of this item the light did not last for a whole year. I bought this because it would come in useful if I didn’t have matches or if it happened to be a bit windy. So I returned it and was partially refunded my money.
such a really handy tool.
I honestly am not an outdoor camping type of guy but this little lighter is a really cool tool to have. Their was been many times where i have tried to lite a cigarette for friends with a regular lighter and had to place my hand near the flame on a windy or rainy day, with this device no need to do any weather proofing it works any time. the fact that you don't need fuel is also good that is extra cost to first buy the fuel and second to get your hands dirty actually feeling up your lighter. The ease of charging it in your car or on the good with a portable charger with throw USB is really nice
