I love my Danner 2650s!

Great hiking shoes! They are stable hiking shoes for steep muddy trails. Also great on pavement. They fit well and have just enough grip to keep me safe !!

Wanted to like these shoes *so* much...but

I've been on the hunt for the perfect hiking/backpacking shoe for years and after reading so, so many reviews of various shoes, I settled on trying a pair of Danners for the first time. I purchased my normal hiking shoe size and was surprised at how cushioned and cloud-like the footbed was. Sadly, the footbed also very narrow and was too uncomfortable to even wear the shoes on a proper hike - I barely made a quarter mile before turning around. The laces were also so short I could barely tie them after loosening everything up a bit to try them on for the first time :/ I wanted to like these shoes so much, but sadly am going to return. Not sure if going a size up would help, but Danner, please consider making a wider footbed version of these shoes!

This is my second pair

This is my second pair of these shoes (different color), and while they fit in length, they are tight around the top of my foot. I have to wear thin socks and can’t tie them too tightly. Also, the shoes laces are SO short! In fact, I was going to reach out and ask for longer shoe laces. If I loosen the shoe, for better comfort, I literally cannot tie a bow. I compared the shoe laces to my last pair, and they are close to 6” shorter. I am not super happy with them, but I’m pretty sure I can’t return them at this point. I am hoping new shoe laces will help.

There is stitching on the

There is stitching on the inside where the tongue meets the shoe, and it’s balled up and protrudes into my inner foot bone. I have to adjust the way I tie them, use mole skin, or sit my foot in there uncomfortably to the point that wearing them is a debate. Having it fixed could take weeks from what I’ve read, so I’m just dealing with it, which is unfortunate. Pretty narrow, I’d say they should be used more casually, rather than actively on the trail.

I have a size 8

I have a size 8 narrow skinny foot. The length was true to size but the shoes feels narrow. There is no arch support and the back slips when you walk. I have only used these on one hike. It was a quick, steep 5 miles out and back. My feet were tired at the end. I normally do much longer hikes with no discomfort. I love the colors on this shoe and if I can find an orthotic that will actually fit in them I'm sure these will be ok grocery getters.

Awesome version - color scheme

I love the regular 2650 but with warmer weather a bit too warm. These mesh ones are awesome as they’re lighter but don’t lose any of the stable features of the Regular ones. I’m an 8 in both. Thin flat feet and skinny ankle. Extra eyelet to tighten if need be is a plus. Don’t hesitate! They’re fantastic shoes and only ones that compare are a pair of LA Sportivas ( which are also good for narrow feet)

Disappointed

This was first pair of hikers from Danner. The colors are great and the sizing is perfect. I had an issue with the right shoe allowing my heel to slide up and down which caused blistering. The left shoe fit was perfect and the heel was snug like it should be. I had to return them because of the right shoe. Very dissappointed.

Very comfy, 4stars only because

Very comfy, 4stars only because they are very narrow. My feet are narrow and these are still very snug. Love the color. Shoe laces are very short, could barely tie them, had to just do 1 loop instead of 2. Othr thn that they're fine. Have to say they don't have as much ankle support as I hoped.

Best hiking shoes ever!

Recommended by our local outdoor outfitting shop. Walked all over China and Cumberland Plateau for the past 6 months in these comfortable boots. Heel never wore down - always comfortable, supportive and cushioned. Looked great, was light enough - resisted water but never got hot. Perfect boot!

great shoe but…

I bought this shoe in May 2021. I have put around 150 miles on them backpacking, including some JMT and Mt Whitney summit. I have no complaints but the shoe doesn’t seem to work for me, as my over pronation is leaning or wearing far left in the heel area.
