[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased a pair of these about 100miles into my '21 At thruhike. The store only had men's, so that's what I bought, which is why I believe I had some rubbing on the inside of my foot when breaking in (I am a woman and do not have wide feet). Once I got the right lace up for my feet with the shoe, these were the absolute best shoe for me. Rode the first pair for 1k miles and took my second pair the remaining 1k miles. Most comfortable trail runner and wouldn't hike in anything else. A little light in protection on the toe and inside of foot, so expect some kicked rocks and roots to hurt, but worth it in my opinion. Could obviously have replaced sooner for a little less wear and tear, but Hiker Trash is as Hiker Trash does.
Usually Altra Trail shoes are my go to for my training and race.. but I wanted to try TNF's new shoes. First time running 10 miles I've got a small blister/cut on left side of the heel. Problem solved with Midcut socks. I ran couple more times before I ran 100K at Zion. I have a small feet maybe size 7 1/2 to 8 but I ordered 8 1/2. Running into around mile 15ish, I felt little pain on both side of my ankle. Seemingly the top part of the side was too tall for my ankles or too stiff and I knew I would get cuts/blisters. I felt little bit of pain throughout the race but it wasn't a big deal. The traction was great! No slipping on rocks and I had so much fun just running. Bottom sole gave good protection and the rocker felt great moving forward. I didn't feel the weight of the shoes which means its pretty light. However one small blister was developing under the ball of my left foot at around mile 50. It was doable but it could turn into a disaster if the race was longer like 100M. Other than that I had no problem. And I finished the race as 1st place. I loved the shoes but felt like I got it 1/2 size too big. All my toenails survived. What can I say.. I've got the 1st place. Great shoes for a trail running especially a race but make sure to get the right size.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased last season's style of this shoe. The colors are different but everything else remains the same. I was reluctant even then because I thought they looked a bit loud, this season's color scheme is even crazier. With that being said, once they were on my feet I was sold. Whoever thought to build a slope into these shoes was a genius. They literally make you WANT to get up and move. After an exhausting day of at the office, something as simple as going to the store, which would normally elicit a groan, feels good in these shoes. When I first saw them, I thought to myself, "what was North Face thinking", but here we are.
It's not super pronounced, but I can feel the snap of the plate and after a little bit you adapt to the rocker style. It moved my strike back just a bit to the back of my midfoot, but felt lovely. The dealbreaker for me was the collar around the upper was thin and began digging into the knobby part of my ankle. The chaffing was untenable for me, but others might not have the same issue.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got back from Rainier National Park, wore these the entire time, first time hiking in anything besides boots. Game changer, summited 3 peaks in the Tatoosh Range in these, and did a rainy hike.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoes are comfortable, light, and have excellent traction for the trails. They'd, however, lack ankle support which sometimes is need out there.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this trail shoe! This is my second consecutive pair. My previous trail shoes were Hoka Speedgoat 3 & 4, Salomon Speedcross 2,3,4.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have both the Vectiv Enduris and Infinite both have their pros/cons. These shoes have a great fit and wider toe box, Drop and midsole are great. The Upper is durable and looks new forever even in white. I've run just about everything in them up to a 50k trail/mountain race. They are really stable running down technical trails. My biggest gripe is the collar is so minimal it just invites rocks into your shoes This is almost a dealbreaker for the kind of terrain I run on. The outsole is grippy but at the expense of durability and wears down pretty fast.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great shoes! but not for my high instep and narrow feet. I have done about 25 about miles a week or about 300 miles since mid may and they have held up ok. I suspect they will last into 400 maybe 500 miles before I replace them. The lugs could be bigger for running here in the north east. These would be great as a easy off trail shoe with little serious vertical climbing. The fit is narrow but the I was still able to run in them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second favorite model in the Vectiv line. I like the Infinite for medium-long runs and workouts. I imagine I'll use it for races 50 miles and below, where the reduced cushioning and lighter weight - as compared to the Enduris - is a smart tradeoff to make. All around a great shoe that I imagine the market will respond very well to. I'd prefer a traditional upper as opposed to the Matryx material.
