This is one of the most fun snowboards i have owned. The fat nose to tapered tail allows for great effortless riding in powder so you can utilize that taper for quick seamless edge to edge fun. If you want a pow board that performs in trees, couloirs and deep pow this is what you are looking for. Not only that but ripping groomers on it is so much fun making huge arching turns. This is definitely a quiver collectors must have board or anyone looking for a great powder board. And don't let that small tail fool you because I have stomped some sizable features on this board as well. If you are looking for a fun agile pow crushing groomer ripping machine this is the board for you.
I bought this board to have a more pow oriented option compared to my twin tip board and I'm really liking it so far. It's very surfy and goes edge to edge effortlessly making it nimble in trees, and the wide nose with offset stance puts you in a nice spot to stay floaty but not too far back that you can't ride switch. Surprised at how light it feels, but still feels very solid under foot. Paired with Union Atlas bindings it is a dream to ride.
The backwoods is one of my favorite boards in my quiver. This board on a pow day has brought so many amazing memories! It’s also extremely nimble for those tight trees. This is my go to mid winter board and I’ve taken it on just about any type of terrain you could imagine. Cliffs, steeps, groomers, and obviously pow! You won’t regret having the backwoods in your quiver.
One of my favorite boards I’ve been on in the 20 years I have been snowboarding. The Backwoods floats effortlessly in deep powder but has also been beyond reliable on crunchy east coast icy days. I spend most of my time in the backcountry of Vermont and New Hampshire, and I do not regret choosing this as my main mode of transportation out there!
the unique shape makes it easy to carve, nimble in the trees and powerful enough to charge steep lines. The dream board
