Great for all day trail running adventures!

Overall, this is a running pack I will continue to choose for my longest and biggest trail running endeavours. Without having to worry about cutting my gear list down to fit inside my pack, I can continue to dream up bigger running adventures. It is a game changer for those looking to push the self supported limits in the backcountry. The many storage solutions provide ample space and easy access to carry all the necessary gear for a big day (and night) on the trail. The 3L reservoir (not included) and 500ml bottle options allow for longer travel time between water stops. This allows you to move quickly and efficiently through the backcountry when out on a multi-hour self supported runs. The comfort cinch system which is great for getting a customizable, no bounce fit can also irritate your back if the plastic closures aren’t correctly positioned.

I really wanted to like it but doesn't last

I really like everything about this pack except for the comfort cinch. It does not stay cinched and I managed to wear through the back strings within three months on two different packs. It's hard to fix on the fly because the holes are so small and rope/shoelaces won't fit and it's really quite unwearable when one breaks off in the middle of a long trail run. I would definitely buy it again if the cinch material is updated/changed to something more thick/durable. My friend has the same pack but in an older version and she does not have this issue with the wearing of the back cinch connection so something must have changed.

Everything You Need!

Great best for everything you need for a long day hike or run! Fits snug with no bounce, yet LIGHT! The only downside ( if I’m being picky) is the strip that covers your back gets warm ( meaning you will sweat), but hey if your running the mountains or cooler weather it could benefit! Small price to pay for such and exceptional multi-pocket vest!

LOVE from the moment in hand

This is my third UD hydration pack. They keep adding amazing features, improving fabrics, and lightening the packs. I have been moving up in capacity size as I'm running longer and using for "fast"/ day hikes. This pack has room for bladder plus first aid, clothing, and food without adding bulk or weight. Still ideal for running even if not loaded. It holds poles, has a rain cover, and they kept all the functional pockets I love and need for hydration pouch, snacks, phone, etc. easily accessible while I'm on the move. One pocket on the shoulder is optional/ removeable. The fit and breathability are fantastic. UD nailed it!! I looked at v6 and did not find it as useful as the v5.

TONS of room

This pack is perfect for longer adventures! So much room in the back pocket even with a full water bladder back there. Love that there is a small rain cover too. The sizing is also great as there are several adjustable straps that make a great fit even for someone that is more petite!

Comfortable, replacement for hiking day pack

I like the range of Ultimate Direction's 5.0 vests. As I already had the Ultra Vesta 5.0 for running, I started to really get into vests as a replacement for backpacks. In this case, I will replace my hiking day pack with the Adventure Vesta. With a vest I can distribute weight better and just keep my center of gravity closer to where it is without a pack. I have not taken this particular vest on a very big outing yet, but so far, very comfortable and have found space for everything I wanted to take on a hike. 4 stars only, because I feel this vest of all would be better equipped with a hydration bladder than just the one soft flask it comes with. I guess most of us already have some form of bladder at home, but for the completeness of this product, I feel the single soft flask is not suitable.

Has all you need

What I love about this vest as it’s ability to hold so many things, and yet cinch down to almost nothing if you don’t need the storage capacity. It has a great number of pockets in storage upfront so you’re not having to fiddle with getting into the back of your pack during a race or long run. The new body flask bottles are also awesome that they don’t have any taste issues. It’s a win-win all around.
