Hooray for full bibs!
YAY! I can't say enough great things about the Incendia Bibs. I used to own Sentential bibs and adored them, but after switching to the Shaska mid bibs the last two years (great for touring!) I missed the high/full bibs for colder days and resort days. I'm so happy with the Incendia bibs as they are lightweight, relaxed fit, awesome color, and well thought out. Pairs perfect with the Incendia jacket.
Great everything!
Like almost everything Arc'teryx does, the Incendia Bibs are impeccably designed and extremely well made. Out of the box the material is at the same time soft and pliable but also feels like they would survive a bomb blast. The Black Heather color is very attractive and understated. Fully taped inside seams serve both to make the bibs exceptionally waterproof and extremely smooth if you needed to wear them without an under layer like tights or long johns. The zipper pulls are small enough to reduce weight but large enough to vent the bibs or open the pockets with heavy ski gloves. The thigh pockets aren’t as deep as on my Sentinel pants but that makes it easier to reach whatever falls down into them. I love the interior cell phone/gadget holster in the right pocket. As someone who pulls their phone out a lot for taking photos while touring or resort skiing this is going to be a game changer. I’ve switched to carrying my phone in my pants pocket to keep it away from my avalanche beacon and I always seem to be digging in my deep pockets to get it out. This will keep it near the top of the pocket and within easy grabbing distance! Excellent addition! The side entry of the bibs is something new to me. I’ve had bibs before and not sure if it was because I was wearing men’s or not, but they were the traditional front opening. Excited to see if the side opening will help venting during the cardio-tactic/steep parts of tours. Also really pumped about the kangaroo/chest pouch on the top part of the bibs. Not sure yet what a I want to put in there, but chapstick comes to mind. Maybe some snacks because everyone needs snacks. The high, extended coverage of the bibs will also be great for summit lunches. Nothing ruins a summit lunch faster than sitting down for the first time in hours only to load up the back of you pants with snow. As with every good ski pant, the Incendia has bomber scuff guards. As a somewhat sloppy skier, I always appreciate this feature. I can nick up the insteps without ruining the Gore-Tex. Deep powder cuffs work great for accessing the buckles on both alpine and touring boots. I constantly fiddle with the fit on my touring boots especially during long days. Powder cuffs are a must. I’m a short, fat skier with thicker thighs and torso than many. At 5 foot 3 inches and 160 pounds of muscle overlaid with a nice layer of padding, the large bibs are slightly long but fit perfectly through the legs, waist and chest. And even the extra length isn’t bad once I put on ski boots. Really they fit quite nicely. (I am short, so I’m pretty used to wearing pants that others would consider too long however, so take that for what it’s worth. I do fold up the pant leg while in regular shoes so they don’t drag on the ground.) Overall these bibs are amazing. Five stars, all the superlatives. Nice work Arc’teryx.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
I am thrilled that Arc’teryx came out with another women’s full bib pant! I’ve been rocking the women’s Sentinel bib pant for the past 5 years, and this bib pant is similar, but with significant improvements. The fit is more forgiving in the body, but slimmer in the legs. The functionality of getting in and out of the bib pants is greatly improved with the hook suspenders. The chest pocket is the perfect size to hold a smart phone, and provides adequate warmth to maintain high battery percentage. Overall super stoked; love the fabric feel, and the waterproof capabilities!
My new favorite bibs
Love my Incendia bibs. I love the full bib. It offers amazing protection from the cold and snow while being incredibly comfortable. The only drawback is they are not as easy to put on since there is no centre zipper. Just personal preference not really a complaint. Size XL is the size I got and being close to six feet tall I am glad the suspenders adjust long enough to accommodate my height, although another inch or two of suspender length would be nice.
Black Heather is Grey
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased these pants for professional use, which needs to be black, upon opening the package I realized they were very grey and unwearable for professional use. I had to return them for this reason. OTHER THAN THAT, phenomenal ski pant, breaks my heart I had to return them. The fit was perfect, the style, everything. Would highly recommend, just not if you're looking for a black snow pant. I am 5'5.5" 115lbs and they were the perfect fit.
Beautiful stylish bib
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Love the look of this bib. The heather grey is beautiful and flattering cut. I prefer having 2 full zips on each side of bib (for ventilation, access to boots and drop seat), so I will be returning and waiting for another version with full zips. I'm an athletic 5'5" and found the length perfect but the upper thighs a bit snug for me.
Favorite Bibs Ever?
These are so comfortable, soft fabric, move perfectly, great pocket locations, useful side drop seat. Wish there was a dedicated beacon pocket with connection point, but hey we can't have everything.
Could be improved.
Good fit, love the similar style to sentinel pants BUT please make them in black, additional inseams, and make a drop seat for bathroom breaks.
New favorite bibs: backcountry and freeride skiing
These are THE bib pants. I've wanted a pair of high top bibs for ages, and the Incendia bibs have really proven their worth this season. I typically ski 80+ days each winter from resort skiing to ski coaching to backcountry day trips, and these bibs are bomb proof, comfortable, and they keep me warm, dry, and they look great with a colorful baselayer or puffy jacket underneath. The pockets are awesome with a great beacon pocket on the chest with a tether. I have a BCA Tracker 3 beacon and this fits great in the pocket. I can also fit plenty of snacks, chapstick, a cell phone, and my seasons pass in the leg pockets. The side zip on the right has a two way function so that you can ventilate while walking uphill, or you can easily zip down to pee without taking the bibs all the way off (Arc has their drop seat situation very dialed for bibs and very discrete in design too). I am 5'5", 120lbs, athletic build with small hips and I fit perfect in the XS size. I am typically a Medium in Arc tops and an XS/2 in bottoms. The brushed/heathered grey color looks awesome and matches any jacket, and almost makes the pants look a bit like dress pants because of the texture. Hoping these bibs stick around for future years and come in some fun colors going forward! My only thought would be to have part of the back material as soft shell for better breathability, but I just end up taking my shell jacket off for high output activity and this solves my back-sweat issues.
