Disappointed

Got excited when I got my shoes, but very disappointed as soon as I saw them. The shoes are pretty scratched up, looks worn already. I bought plenty of sorels for myself and gifts for family. Didn't have any issue until now. Looks like they've been previously worn.

Good fit for narrow feet, Quality control may be an issue

**I have not worn these boots besides just trying them on so I cannot speak on longevity. This is just about the initial fit and experience with Sorel! I almost passed on buying these because of reviews about size issues but I loved the look of them so I went for it. I am a narrow size 8 and bought both an 8.5 and 9 to try. The 8.5 fit best out of the two. It fits me perfect with thick socks and not too snug. With a thin sock it is a tad roomy. But I will most likely not be wearing summer socks with these boots so I am not worried about it. I will say the front feels much more narrow than the ankle area which feels a bit loose which was surprising because I read a lot of reviews saying the opposite. But every foot is different. If you have narrow feet, I would go for these and try them out! Very cute, seem to be good quality, and very warm. However I am only giving 4 stars because I had bought two pairs and while the first was okay, the second looked as if they'd been used already. Please see the attached photos. Otherwise, service and shipping has been good.

Entirety way too narrow

I just received these in the mail today and I have to say other than heels I have never seen a shoe so narrow. I wear an 8 shoe and after reading reviews I ordered a 9 and my feet are still squished!

Comfortably great! Excellent REIcustomer service!

Wore boots for wear in -11 to -17 Celsius weather in Hokkaido Japan without the bulk & weight as other Sorel snow boots. There was a problem with original ordered boots so was not able to break boots in prior to trip. REI was excellent in ensuring I received my shoes before my trip! the boots were extremely comfortable and warm with all the walking in Japan’s heavy snow, cold & rain. Thin socks were fine, I opted to wear a 2nd layer - wool sock when temp got to the -2 Celsius with the option to take off a layer of sock if it got too warm for me, which did happen a few times. Fit: I regularly wear 6.5 or 7, I purchased a size 8 with some room for wool socks (not bulky & thick). It fit great & comfortable. The instructions were to size up.

Excellent.

My boots arrived this morning, and they are just as the description says. I wear 7.5, but I read other reviews about the size, so I ordered 8.5 and they fit perfect. These boots are perfect for my upcoming winter trips!

Caution! on Sizing "UP" Advice

Great quality boots, warm, cushy, grippy and the Velvet Tan color is nice and vibrant. If your feet are normal width or narrow, like mine, the recommendation to "size up one full size" might be a bit too much. I normally wear a 7.5 shoe and a 8.0 winter boot. Based on the recommendation, I ordered the size 8.5 but it was loose around the ankles and my heel slipped when walking. I returned for a size 8.0 which fit much better. The top of the boot hits a bit higher than expected on the back of the shin, but does soften up after wearing. I am 5 ft. 7 in. I am very satisfied with this purchase and feel the boots will hold up to years of wear.

This is my first good pair of snow boots - I picked Sorels because it was what everyone reccomended! They fit true to size, are comfortable, and kept my feet very toasty while snowshoeing

Exceeded Expectations

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of these boots given that they were new and a higher price point, however I have been very impressed! They broke in easily, are very comfortable, have a solid but not too rigid footbed, really great grip, and have kept my feet dry and warm down to single digits (haven't tried lower yet). I've used them for walking around the city as well as long hikes through both packed icy snow, and 6+ inches of loose snow. My only negative is that they do feel a bit clunky, but for all of the other advantages, I'll take it! Normally a size 6, after reading reviews I sized up to a 7 and they fit perfectly.

Did I need them no, did I want them yes!

Comfortable, 3 are bit on the heavier side, but when you take them off you won't regret it. Other shoes hurt and won't last nearly as long as. Great pair of SOREL boots. There snug in the In the beginning, but their leather so yes they will stretch out wear thick socks and they'll be ready to go in no time. Lining all the way inside the shoe, your feet will stay warm! Heavy: yes. feel no issue walking sons in snow. Size: I'm 9-10, but in Sorel 10 some times 10.5 depending but always 10!

Had to Reply to Donoln YYC on Her Poor Review

I couldn't believe this earlier review from Donoln YYC entitled "Looks Can Be Deceiving." She stated, "Too be honest my biggest issue was reading the tag that the wool was made from lamb. Once I saw that it was all over. The entire time i tried them on I felt guilty and just pictures baby sheep getting killed just so I can have wool on my boot. For me personally, it's not something I'm willing to support or negotiate my feelings on. So unfortunately back they go. Will keep searching!" How could someone be so ignorant? Sheep & lambs are sheared to get wool, not killed. It's a renewable resource. These are great boots by the way and eco-friendly to boot (pun intended).
