I bought these because they had the best combination of padding, a sneaker feel, and an aggressive, deep, and durable (not soft like many others) lug pattern I could find. I've put nearly 20 miles a week on these for several months, and they do exactly what I expected them to. No slipping on the steepest up and downhills, with the fit and feel of a sneaker. Really confidence inspiring when you're moving fast on questionable terrain. While these are marketed for wet and "sloppy terrain," they're great on hard packed earth with pebbles as well because the depth and spacing of the lugs allows a lot of junk to pass under the shoe without disturbing your stride. A couple things to be aware of. They do require some break-in due to the sheer quantity of stiff rubber on the sole. Having worn these in mostly hot weather so far, they are not breezy shoes, nor particularly light.
Removed supplied insole and replaced with Orange super feet as I have low arches. Traction is outstanding. Lug direction is reversed direction on heel for traction while descending or breaking. Outstanding.
These shoes have great grip for going off-road whether hard packed or muddy. They do an outstanding job of keeping your foot planted. Plus, they are very comfortable. I’ve been a long term user of Saucony shoes for road running and trail running and the fit/comfort is consistent with their other shoes. I will definitely be back for another pair after I beat these up.
They do a real nice job gripping the trails. The lugs are thick and the shoes are comfortable. The toe box is a little narrow, but overall a great shoe.
These are actually really nice and my running shoes are Saucony. But, the toe box was too tight and hurt. I had to return them for Salomons. Thats not the fault of the shoes, it's my feet.
Was really liking these shoes. Had about 30 miles on them (combination gravel, pavement, and rocky trail) when I noticed both heels splitting. Shoes had great traction and feel but I will likely try something else due to the durability issue.
I haven't used these much (ran <50 miles on them so far), but these are great trail runners. Very water resistant, and are great at gripping all sorts of surfaces.
Love the shoes, but can't use it. Saucony has gone narrow on the foot. I had to return it.
I’ve had these shoes for a month and the heels of both shoes have holes in the lining. I average about 5 miles of walking on/off-road. These are some of the worst shoes I’ve had in recent memory and I wish I hadn’t made the purchase.
Been wearing Peregrines exclusively for the last 7 years. Some years are good, some years are bad, this was a good year - great year actually. Uppers not tearing, and soles seem sturdier than other years.
