My dog loves this! Seriously, after he used it for the first time he gave me a giant kiss. It keeps him dry. Not sure how long it takes before it wets through but it’s held up to light to medium rain so far on our walks of 30 minutes or so. No down pour experiences yet. The liner keeps him warmer and I plan to use it for camping as well when it gets colder at night. Only issue. The top harness is developing a slight tear. Don’t know if it is just cosmetic or if it is structural since the hook is sewn to something between the layers I can’t see well. Not sure if I would recommend this for a dog who pulls a lot. But otherwise loving it.

I have a Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix. He is very tall and very long, while having a pretty deep chest. Finding things to fit him isn't always easy. I have a Ruffwear backpack for him, so I have experience with their products. In fact, when I opened the new jacket, he got SO excited, was patient with my doing the try-one, then spent several minutes nosing and smelling it. He is pretty thin coated, and while he has a really nice raincoat, I wanted him to have a burlier winter jacket for our adventure. I had a chance to give this a really good shakedown this weekend. I took him out on a 5 mile outing where he ran through scrub brush and sage while it rained pretty hard; it even started turning to snow. We were out in the rain and snow for over two hours, and his jacket did not wet through! When I took it off of him, his fur was dry beneath. My daughter's two setters were sans coat, and they were both soaked through, the puppy shivering. The pros: the coat fitted him fine, especially since he is so long. I like how the chest straps adjusted well. I found the pockets bigger than described. They were large enough that the Iditarod snow shoes (probably the size of two or three large bandanas) fitted fine into one pocket. I will balance the pack by moving two later. I liked the two layer of fleece and water resistant shell. The cons: I wish the sides came down *just* a little farther. I would have liked if the fabric came down just a bit past the mid-point of this sides. Look on his flank, and you can see it could come down just a bit, which would help shuck rain off the sides a little better, and not drip onto his fur. Nitpick: for the taller dogs, it might be good to put a second strap across the belly to help the coat from not sliding quite as much. It wasn't a ton, but maybe a strap could be an option? Overall, I am very happy with this coat. He was just so relaxed with it on, and as it started to rain, I could see that he was still warm and comfortable. I would buy again.
Easy to use
My 10 year old pup seems to appreciate his new coat on our morning walks! It is intuitive and easy to put on, and doesn’t hinder his movement much. My only complaint is that is it a touch long for him and does seem to slightly impact his tail wagging, for what that’s worth! The inside material is soft, and the whole thing appears well made and durable.
Nice outer layer for your dog
I have been pleased with the Ruffwear Fuse Overcoat. Materials are nice with weatherproof outer layer and soft inner layer. Have not tried it yet, but is should pair very well with warmer under sweater. Coat is a little stiff and lifts up in the back, but it will keep my dog drier and likely will soften up over time. 5-point harness works well from either connection point, even with pulling dogs. Sizing guidance is good. Small fits my 35 pound boarder collie well and the medium is perfect for my 65 pound lab-mix.
Great pooch outerwear
The ruffwear overcoat is very well made. I was surprised how thick and week stitched the jacket is. My dog did not like it at first, but grew accustomed to having it on. We were sent a medium for a 55 pound lab mix. It is a bit large when fastened on the smallest loop settings, so measure your dog carefully. The jacket washed easily after getting muddy. The pockets are nice additions and hold small elements like waste bags. Overall, a very nice, well made jacket for your pooch.

Returned the large for a medium. Fits the irish setter pretty well. Could also be a bit longer on the sides. Dog doesn't mind wearing it. It is not a super warm jacket, but I think it is perfect for all seasons except below zero temps. Warm enough for her winter 5 mile walk. Product is well made.
Pretty much ideal
Pretty much ideal - good quality, accurate fit, good coverage, good features, dog likes it. Sheds snow & rain great, top shelf.
Great raincoat for in-between sized pooch
I wanted something to keep my medium-to-large female labrador retriever dry during the rainy season and this jacket does the job well. We both like that it has adjustable clips on the sides to secure it so she has underbelly coverage. The only negative is that it goes over the head, and my dog is a bit weary of putting her head into the hole. And then pulling it off is a bit of a tugging match as it catches behind her ears, Luckily my dog is incredibly brave and mostly tolerant of this part of the process.
Upgraded design
So many great features in this coat. I have an older version and this one has been updated with a side zip pocket, hook on top for dog leashes, among a few other bells and whistles.
This jacket does everything
We really like this jacket, it does everything.....all I need is a leash, and the side pockets are great.
