Not THE ones
I wanted these shorts to be THE ONEs so bad! They’re super cute. I love the fabric and design. As all of the other reviews say, they’re tight and sit low in the front. The legs are very roomy. Another downfall, the clasp isn’t very secure, so even though these “fit” they kept coming un-clasped. Would hope that these shorts would stay buttoned for $100!
The CUTEST and most FUNCTIONAL
Other than the (CHEAPER) price point, it's hard for me to tell a difference between these shorts and their sister the Freel. I absolutely LOVE the Thistle pattern. The length and materials are perfect. The shorts move with you and don't feel bulky. The fabric is soft and stretchy. Dont worry about wearing these shorts when its muddy out because after the ride it will brush right off. They hit perfectly on your knee so that when you're wearing knee pads you dont have the awkward thigh gap. And the pockets! The cell phone pocket is perfectly placed so that your phone doesn't get in the way while pedaling, and the two front pockets are real pockets, deep enough to hold dog treats or some cash for that after ride beer. And youll definitely want to keep wearing them at the bar for that post ride beer. I have never not gotten a compliment while wearing them
So cute! May need a belt.
These are so cute. Fit-wise- I know a lot of other reviews have said to size up but I stuck to my true size and I’m glad I did. I would say they fit similarly to the Shredly MTB Short, I wear an 8 in that style and tend to have perfect fit in the bum and thighs but have a bit of an extra gap in the waist. These fit exactly the same. My only criticism with these shorts is that there is no built in feature to cinch the waist in a bit (like there is with Shredly).
Too small
I'm 5'8, 130lbs. I got the size 2 shorts but they were so small, so I returned. I got the size 4 shorts and they would probably be ok if I didn't wear the padded chamois underneath. I wore the size 4 for a bit with chamois but one day I just got so sick of the tightness so I had to return them. The shorts did good in the wash. Pretty good quality. Looking for something more flexible and soft in material- like the Zoic shorts, but those also have a weird fit.
Not for gals with a booty!
I really wanted to love these shorts and had researched shorts for a while before I bought these. However, they were super tight against my rear and super big in the waist band. Deal breaker.
Cant get the correct fit :(
I am so bummed, I ordered these online in my usual size (following Wild Rye sizing guidelines) and the size 2 were a bit too snug, but barely so. So I returned them and ordered a size 4. These were also too snug in all the wrong places. I'm 5'9 and very slender and wear a size 2 in clothes so I can't figure out why these are so snug. I will return and although I love the design and stretch of the fabric I can't justify trying to order a third time.
Great Pocket!
Love these shorts. Super durable and the pocket fits my giant phone! I find that they run a little small. I'm 5'3, 135# and the 6 fits me great!
Flexible, durable fun print!
These are fantastic. ‘Thistle’ print is even better in person. Well-made, flexible, yet durable shorts in a terrific length for riding. I ordered up because I usually need to do so when buying bike shorts: no need. My regular size would have been fine.
So disappointing
I have hips, and a butt, and thighs and these shorts have ZERO give. I'm not sure who they're making these for, but it definitely isn't for anyone with a little curve. I'm 5'5", 150lbs and in most clothes I'm a small/medium, 27"/size 6, but I can barely squeeze into a Wild Rye size 10. Really hoping they start making some more inclusive sizing. There's so many other brands with stretchy shorts in fun patterns out there for cheaper. Check out Zoic and Shredly!
Almost perfect
Mostly love them. They’re snug on the tight size for an 8 but stretchy enough that they’re still comfortable and don’t get hung up on things. Love the pattern, high quality breathable fabric. My only complaint is the snap closure. For a sport that requires lots of leaning and standing/sitting transitions the snap waist closure just doesn't hold. It’s not a sizing thing because the waist is loose in back but snaps still pop open when leaning into them eg on a climb. If it weren’t for this issue I probably would’ve bought a few more colors already.
