The narrowest sandal ever

I was so excited to get my first pair of Chacos.... but holy smokes these shoes are made for women with narrow feet. I got my foot in but it looked like a busted can of biscuits and my big toe literally turned purple, as you can see in my photo. The shoes seem well constructed, but do not purchase if you have even the slightest wide feet. Also I didnt realize REI had such a sad return policy where you have to pay for shipping, even if you already paid $5.99 to have the item shipped to you. I work in retail, 90% of stores cover return shipping. REI isnt one of them. So I paid $48 for the shoe and have paid almost half that just in shipping costs. Sadly this will be my last Chaco and last REI experience.

Split sole too soon.

Sole is split in half less than 2 years later. My previous pair easily went 6+ years. From the beginning I could tell these were not as well made. Maybe a supply chain issue, was that still a thing in 2022?

New design, slimmer shoe, and lighter weight

I bought my first pair of chacos in 2014. I went with the split straps with the toe strap. They were black and I could not for the life of me figure out the tightening and loosening of the straps. I made do, but still loved them. As time went on we grew better accustomed to each other, but the soles began falling off. I made the decision to get new ones. The new ones have a fun new strap design and are a slimmer lighter fit. It makes my old shoes look reallt clunky haha. I figured out the straps after 15 mins. And they were were easy to glide back and forth. They are super comfortable. And maybe I was being too accommodating with my old pair. Haha

Perfect style and fit!

Extremely comfortable and looks great. Much preferred over versions with toe loop. Bought all black color. Highly recommend!

Horrible Fit

These sandals have straps which are not at all adjustable and while one strap over the toes and top of foot for well the other strap on the other direction is extended loose and there’s no way tighten it. Would not recommend

Banded Z1 just as comfortable as Original Z1

I own a Z1 sandal that was purchased many years ago and still thriving, but well used (downgraded to work/paint shoes). These new ones with the extra band are just as comfortable and a bit more fashionable. I wear a 6.5/7 womens and bought the size 6 which fits perfect.

Nice sandals

Not for me however! As much as I want to like them, I need that toe loop security to feel safe. Return through no fault of their own and exchanged for Z1 anniversary with toe loop.

Extra strap? Sure....

I really didn't need another pair of Chaco's but I couldn't resist this design. I love the look of the extra strap...seems dressier which Iike...but still has all the other features in my other Chaco's. I bought the Black color and only wish it REI had other colors to choose from.

Almost, not quite

I was so excited to see these marked down in the website and ordered them immediately. I failed to notice that they were the banded version. I just want the zcloud z1 for ultimate comfort. These are going back and I’m order them right pair. Sadly, not on sale. My usual size 6 (I wear a 7 in running shoes, 6 in sandals) is good and I love the zcloud version-so much nicer to be more flexible.

Love this strap design!

I absolutely love this new strap design for Chaco! I already have a pair of Z1s, Z2s, and ZX2s, and I just HAD to add these to my closet too! Its just too hard to resist a new pair of Chacos :-) These fit my pretty average feet perfectly, exactly the same as all of my other pairs. Can't wait to see what Chaco comes out with next!
