Possibly my favorite gloves!
My gloves favorite for backpacking. At altitude it can still get cold in the summer and this glove can handle it well. They pack down small and weight almost nothing. Yesterday I used them on skimo day trip. Most of the time the liner is fine by itself but you still have the shell when the wind kicks up or you get some minor precip. The only issue I have with these gloves is how easily they rip on abrasive surfaces. You cannot wear the shells if you will be scrambling over rock or touching anything abrasive. The fingertips also seem especially prone to wear. If those issues were addressed without making the gloves bulky they would be perfect.
Great XC ski gloves
The only difference between this model and the newer $59 is that out shell is 20m and the more expensive got upgraded to 40m. Otherthan that, they are the exact same glove.
XC Ski Touring use
Nice gloves, good warmth and wicking. Extra warmth, wind and waterproof available in an instant with shells that fit nicely in large pockets on top of glove. I use these gloves XC skiing in Switzerland skiing to and from lunch outings in variable weather over 5 hour periods. Especially nice to have the over gloves when going downhill long distances without much physical exertion(compared to climb).
Sweet dudey
Breathable gloves yet have kept my hands warm in around freezing (maybe a bit cooler) weather. Very happy I finally invested the money in nice gloves after having extremely cheap Nike gloves for over 5 years
Comfortable and warm, some setbacks
Used these gloves ski touring/mountaineering. Great fit, perfect temp for this kind of activity, great to throw on the shell when the wind picks up. Downsides are that the 'sense' fingers don't seem to work very often, meaning you have to take them off to snap a photo, isn't ideal in the bitter cold. And the shell ripped after a scramble up a rocky ridge.
Everything as t should be!
We use these in the coldest months as under mittens for fat tire bike riding in and around northern New England. The work well in warmer months solo. I carry a phone for safety and convenience and high quality sensors are a must.
