Outdoor Research  Sureshot Heated Soft-Shell Gloves - Men's

I bought these for cold weather fieldwork in Arizona. I was looking for the most dexterous heated gloves that were semi-durable. The interior liner material does not provide enough resistance against the outer soft shell material, which makes it slightly loose feeling. Getting fingers to the end of the glove is also not the easiest. I would consider different gloves if dexterity is needed. I would still rate these as decent heated gloves as they do provide heat without overheating your hands. The 2 hour runtime on high seems low, but you can turn them to medium/low once they have heated throughout. TLDR: I would purchase these heated gloves if dexterity is not paramount.

These gloves are quite effective for casual strolls in town or social gatherings with friends. However, they fall short under extreme conditions and are not waterproof, so additional waterproof layers would be advisable. Another point of contention is their sizing chart. I found the large size too restrictive in the thumb area, whereas the XL seemed overly spacious, almost half of an inch around the fingers. The sizes appear to vary significantly. I initially purchased both the large and XL sizes, but eventually returned the XL. On the upside, the gloves do keep your hands warm and largely align with their advertised function, although there is room for improvement in terms of waterproofing and sizing.

We actually got these primarily for driving our electric car, since we don;t want to waste car battery power to heat the interior. One tip I learned is to turn them on to high a few minutes before putting them on, and that's when you really notice how warm they are. THe lower settings are too low to warm up cold hands, but great for maintenance so warm hands stay warm. My 2 complaints are that the battery life seems to be quite a bit less than advertised, and the fingers feel really chubby, so they are not as comfortable to wear as we hoped.

Gloves seam to work well in moderately cold conditions (between 12 and 25 degrees) Not sure about any thing cooler though). Fit is good. A large seams to equate to about 9.5-10. I’ve used them for downhill skiing several times and enjoy the dexterity of a glove whilst keeping my Ranauds syndrome in check . I’ll use them for biking and XC skiing and I expect them to function great. They don’t look super durable but we shall see how they fare. They’re well made but just not stoutly built

These gloves are awesome. Worth every penny. I use these gloves for hunting, working outside and other outdoor activities. The battery life last longer than I expected, my only thing is there seems to be a slight tightness in the knuckles but not too bad. I have the xl's. I'd recommend this item to anyone. Green is warm enough for me. Red will cook your hands unless you're up in the arctic circle. Keep the batteries charged and they'll last forever.

I bought gloves and used twice. Its barely noticeable when gloves are turned on any setting specifically high. Tried in 20 degrees and also in 34. Hands got cold both times. I work on a mtn and usually use basic lined leather gloves and add heater packet if i get cold. Splurged to get heated gloves and sorry i did. These are going back. Also water resistant for about 20 minutes. Drizzle went through them like they were cotton. Very underwhelmed!

Typically OR gear fits true to size and fits me well. I own various gloves and mittens in size XL and they all fit great. Likewise with OR clothing. However, these particular gloves fit VERY tight. They are NOT XL in size. In addition to being tight everywhere, the fingers are super short. So for a really expensive pair of gloves, I haven't been able to wear them and can't comment on their long term heating ability in the field.

I've used twice at a few degrees below freezing while road cycling. They worked OK but I could not keep on the high setting for too long for multi-hour rides (high setting limited to 2 hours) and so I kept at lower settings with fingers cool but OK. Gloves probably not designed for so much wind. I may try with cortex overfits on top next time. I have also used for photography at the same temperature where they worked great.

I had high hopes for this glove as OR has alway put out great gear. Unfortunately this glove fell short. The glove itself was great but the heating aspect was not good. On lower settings you could not tell it was on and when using the high setting the batteries died in just over an hour - plus it takes a long time to charge the batteries. Not the glove I was hoping for and would not recommend it.
