Portable, easy to use grill.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I will comment on the packaging, I found that it was pretty beat up upon arrival and the items inside were shuffled around, causing slight scratches on the grill. I did not remove any stars for that since that could have easily been FedEx’s fault and nothing to do with the product itself. However, the grill was easy to put together and fire up. I like that the grill is lightweight and is easily portable with one hand operation. I got the grill up to 500 degrees very quickly and everything functioned and cooked evenly. From camping, to park cookouts to tailgating, this grill will be able to do it all. I would highly recommend this grill!

Works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Coleman Roadtrip portable grill about a week ago. Packaging was great and it arrived in a great amount of time. Quick easy to put together. Easy to transport from one location to another. Grills meat very well. My wife and I are very satisfied with our new grill.

Disappointed

I am disappointed in the way the hinges are attached to the lid. I had to buy washers and rivets to reattach the hinge. First off the holes punched into the lid are much bigger than 1/8". Second the washers on the rivets were too small and 4 of the 6 pulled right through after only the second use of the grill. And third the baked on finish has already chipped off where the hinges attach. I bought this grill assuming Coleman was a name to be trusted. I tried adding pictures of the faulty rivets and my repairs but they wouldn't upload.

Pay attention to the reviews

This grill could be great but has a major design flaw and is poorly assembled. The clip and metal screws that keep the tray from freely sliding out fell out on one side. Now the tray won’t stay in when I fold it up. Other issue is the griddle you can purchase separately sits high and you can’t close the lid if using it. The positive to it is the burner and burner control. It could be an amazing grill but as of now I would not purchase it again or recommend it. Which I hate saying cause I’ve always loved my Coleman grills prior to this. This one happening to be the most expensive as well and I can’t find the parts to repair it.

Best portable grill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Propane Gas Grill, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in many aspects. As someone who loves outdoor grilling, this portable grill quickly became a favorite due to its impressive features and user-friendly design. It boasts a total of 20,000 BTUs, providing excellent heat for a variety of cooking styles. The three adjustable burners are a game-changer, offering improved burner technology that allows for precise temperature control. This feature came in handy when I wanted to sear steaks at high heat or slow-cook some delicate dishes with lower temperatures. The large grilling area of 285 square inches is perfect for accommodating a variety of foods, making it an ideal choice for gatherings or family outings. I found it spacious enough to grill burgers, chicken, and veggies simultaneously without feeling cramped for space. The integrated thermometer is a thoughtful addition, ensuring accurate temperature monitoring for perfectly cooked meals. Setting up the Coleman RoadTrip 285 is a breeze, thanks to its sturdy quick-fold legs and wheels. The portability factor is a major plus, especially for those who love to take their grilling adventures on the road. Whether you're camping, tailgating, or just enjoying a day at the beach, this grill is a reliable companion that can be easily transported. The push-button ignition is a convenient feature, providing matchless lighting for a hassle-free start. No need to fumble with matches or lighters – just press the button, and you're ready to start grilling. I appreciated this time-saving element, especially when I was eager to get the cooking underway without any delays. Now, despite all the positive aspects, I did encounter one drawback with the Coleman RoadTrip 285. The absence of a stove wind block was noticeable during windy conditions. This resulted in some challenges when trying to maintain consistent heat levels. While it didn't completely ruin the grilling experience, it's something to consider if you often find yourself cooking in windy outdoor environments. In conclusion, the Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Propane Gas Grill is a fantastic addition to any grilling enthusiast's arsenal. Its powerful burners, spacious grilling area, easy setup, and portability make it a standout choice for various outdoor activities. The integrated thermometer and push-button ignition add to the overall convenience. Despite the minor setback with the lack of a stove wind block, the positives far outweigh this issue. I highly recommend this grill for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile outdoor cooking companion.

Love my Coleman grill

I have owned it a little over a year now and have used it several times. Once for a going away party for 12 people, a BBQ for a small car dealership as well. This grill heats up quickly and cooks evenly. It folds up and is easy to handle and lift. It’s been better than my expectations, and love using it.

Grill anywhere

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill. It is so easy to set up and take down and fits perfectly in the back of my car without taking up all the space. It’s perfect for a trip to the lake, beach, or park as well as tailgating at football games or just around the house. I love that we no longer have to drive around to find an open grill on our outings. We just park and set up wherever we want to eat. It’s one hand set up and take down is so easy with no fuss. It has 3 separate burners that can be adjusted individually to cook multiple items. You can also buy additional cook tops to switch out the grill grates with a griddle or stove grate. The grill uses a 1lb propane tank that can be switched out easily so you never have to worry about the weather your cooking in putting your coals out. I definitely recommend everyone own one of these as it will also come in handy if you ever have a power outage at home you can just fire up the grill and make a hot, tasty meal right at home.

Poor design and quality

I bought this during COViD to replace my last roadtrip that I wore out, and due to medical reasons it sat in its box unassembled until recently. I finally have the opportunity to get back to camping so I assembled it and took it on our first trip. Used it a total of 3 times and very disappointed. The “water tray” is already rusting and paint peeling despite being thoroughly cleaned and dried after each use. Despite having 3 burners, each individually controlled, temperature regulation is nearly impossible as it heats to 400 degrees with just a single side burner on low. I’ve camped and owned Coleman products my entire life, at least 80% of my current gear is Coleman, but this product and it’s quality is a disgrace to the name. Very disappointed

Coleman roadtrip 285 portable standup propane gril

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Man where to start absolutely love the Coleman gas grill. One of the main thing I like about the grill is that is easy clean up. I pretty much to use a wet rag and everything wiped right off. save me a lot of time. The second thing I really liked about the grill is that heats up evenly when you use all three burners this is the first gas grill I've ever had that had three burners the third thing I really like about the gas grill is that it's on wheels and I also folds down flat for Easy Storage , when they say portable that's exactly what they mean this grill is really portable . So coming from somebody who loves to grill that's mainly grilled with charcoal my whole life I highly recommend this Coleman gas grill it is definitely game changer thank me later!!!!
