Good Jacket for a Good Boy
Got this for a large dog and it fits great. We shave him down in the summertime so he stays cool and dries off from the water quickly, but noticed he still gets chilly in the evenings when out camping. This has been great for keeping him warm overnight (but disclaimer that we haven’t tried it in winter conditions yet).
Great Around-Town Jacket
Great for around town. Looks and fits great. Where this coat fell short was back country skiing. My dog needs a jacket for below freezing temps but this jacket's neckline was so low that snow would build up in the neck and chest. I returned it to get a coat with more of a turtle neck.
All Purpose Jacket
I have a couple of these jackets. They work great with my short-hair Cattle Dog mix. Works best in dry cooler weather for my very active dog. Not good for heavy rain or prolonged showers as they soak through. I use other Ruffwear apparel for snow or cold weather conditions. My dog wears holes in the lining in about 2 years (I stretch active life to 3 years with repairs). Look for this item on sale.
Okay fit
My dog has medium length fur as a cattle dog mix so she doesn't need too much warmth. This felt like a good extra to get her through colder conditions. The downside is that unlike almost all of their other jackets, this one doesn't have leg loops. It would be a HUGE improvement to the coat. My dog is in between S/M so I sized up to fit the harness underneath and the back is just a little wild on her, the leg loop would bring it all together
