"Bang for the buck" Multipurpose Jacket

At last the long search is OVER!!! 5 stars for this!!!This is indeed a perfect jacket that can be used this winter season. Since I'm a tourist here that will stayed for a few months, a multipurpose jacket is a must! What I like in this jacket is being a dual purpose protection, which can either be used in outdoor and indoor. Texture of the jacket is durable perfect for trekking the cold mountain, plus this jacket is very light as compared to other . The fleece inside is plain but elegant and will keep you warm. I really like thia jacket hoping to buy another northface jacket soooon.

Great jacket at a fair price.

This is a great, basic jacket for a fair price. My son is incredibly picky about coats, refusing to wear heavy ones. This is light weight, yet warm. The two biggest downsides are the sleeves and the pockets. The inner fleece sleeves often extend past the outer shell sleeves when you put the jacket on. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. The biggest disappointment is the no internal pockets. The only pockets on the jacket are the hand warmer ones on the shell and fleece, which is not ideal for use when skiing or in wet weather. Otherwise, this really is a great jacket. He loves the colors and the fleece liner is a great stand alone light jacket.

In the Inland NW: Warm, Sturdy and Looks Good

I can’t say enough good things about this coat. We have tried 4 different brands of coats for our son, but none have held up or performed like North Face. I was hesitant to choose this coat after some other reviews complained it was thin or the liner had no pockets but decided to give it a try since my husband and I are both happy with our North Face coats. The thin, pocketless, liner has not affected warmth or functionality. In fact our son complains of being too warm at times. If you are using this coat for truly cold weather than the child will most likely be wearing snow pants and layered clothing underneath. With the addition of bib snow pants this coat has the perfect balance of warmth for an active child which avoids overheating and sweating which risks getting chilled. This coat has held up to daily winter use at school and outdoor play and still looks nearly new with very little wear in fall 2018 - winter 2019. And we are getting a second season of use in fall 2019 - winter 2020. It will probably still be in good enough shape to pass on to another child as the zippers and shell are in great condition.

Nice product, but ripped within one week of wearing

This jacket is a good looking and my son loves it. It is warm and fits well. Unfortunately, it ripped within one week of him owning it. He fell outside and the sleeve now has a hole in it. This was an expensive coat and I don't think a product like this should rip by just falling down one time. North Face said I could send it back to them, but it may not be covered under warranty and it would take up to 8 weeks! We live in Chicago with cold winters. My son can't go without a winter coat for two months.

Not what I thought it would be

We bought this jacket for my 13 yr old son. We wanted to get him a North Face because he's old enough to spend decent money on a good product. He choose green as its his favorite color. We liked the idea of 2 pieces that fit together giving him options. When we received it we were disappointed in how thin and unsubstantial this product was. Both layers felt inferior and cheap.!plus the size just fit him he would barely get a year out of it. This product was no good enough for NYC winters! We immediately went to our local NF store and exchanged it for a bigger size and better jacket.

Perfect jacket! Would buy again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket for my 8-year-old son. It is perfect for the cold Vermont winters. The fleece inner is also perfect for chilly summer nights. This jacket could be used for any season which makes it so great! He loves it! We would definitely purchase this style jacket again from TNF.

Northface is AMAZING!! This is the second coat I have purchased for my son and I absolutely love it! It isnt too bulky and its amazing for all climate. I actually had to send the 1st triclimate coat to warranty after 2 yrs. It came back with the issue fixed however also was damaged under warranty. It happens. I had NO PROBLEM getting this issue resolved with warranty or the northface store because they could not fix the issue, they gave me a gift card to purchase a new one goodr my son! This is EXCELLENT customer service!! We love the new coat for my 4 yr old. Thanks Northface!!

Great 3 in 1 Coat

I bought this coat for my 5 year old son and he just loves it. The fact that it is 3 in 1 really provides a lot of versatility. Time will tell but the coat appears to be well made and very durable.

Warm & functional

No hidden zipper pocket and the clasps that connect the two jackets at the cuffs aren't secure enough so the inner jacket slips past the shell which frustrates my son.
