I just love these socks! They're so comfortable and cozy feeling. Darn Tough's tend to fit my feet the best out of any other sock. They don't slip or bunch. They keep my feet warm and dry. I was just camping in Alaska and decided to wear these socks 3 days in a row... Maybe I'm blessed with non-stinky feet, but these socks never smelled bad after 3 days!
socks are "medium" thick... not thin summer running, not thick boot/winter sock. I have the habit of wearing them around the house without shoes and they hold up (unlike others that wear the bottom). working outdoors landscaping with steel toe boots the socks are cool and comfortable... they don't hold moisture and are constant controlled temp in heat or cold weather. Fit is normal... oh, and I just throw them in the wash with other stuff... none of the gentle cold water/cool dryer stuff... they hold up!
I find that thicker socks cause blisters for me. So, these are thin enough and are not too hot. I wear them in my big mountaineering boots, where I need the higher calf. This is my second set of Darn Tough socks. They are as good as advertised.
I love these things. Comfy and durable. No itch, no sag, well padded.
Love these socks. Through-hiked the Appalachian Trail with them last year (went through 4 pairs) without any blisters (used Injini toe socks too). They last a long time and are very comfortable.
I have a couple other different Darn Tough socks but these are my very favorite. In fact I'm ordering another pair right now!
This is my third pair of Darn tough socks. I highly recommend these for hiking and everyday winter use. I use them year round but they might be a little too heavy for summer wear for some folks.
these socks feel terrible, hot and clammy skin as if I'm wearing plastic. I couldn't believe how awful they felt after trying them for the first time, only because my other pairs 5+ of darn tough are excellent and feel completely different. is this different coolmax blend the issue? or is the entire product line this way now? darn!
Bought these for trekking in the Himalayas next month. Took a several mile hike through light brush this week and they are now full of snags. This is very disappointing as these are very expensive socks yet wear much more poorly than my much cheaper socks. I don’t have confidence they will hold up for long distance hiking. Unfortunately we ordered several pairs of these.
I wore these on multiple longer hikes (15-20 miles) with short hiking boots. I typically run into the problem of needing to change socks eventually if they are either too thin or too thick- but these seem like the perfect amount of thickness for anything. They kept me warm in a little bit of colder weather, however they are still thin enough to be comfortable for all day wear.
