I 'discovered' these socks back in 2017 when I first bought a few pair. Not only are they comfortable for year-round wear but they're virtually indestructible! I'm on my feet part-time in a hardware store, boots for support on a concrete floor. Summer or winter these socks keep my feet dry & comfortable. Boots off at home, in my stocking feet I go anywhere inside & the socks refuse to wear out. They're more expensive than some similar products but nothing I've yet tried on performs like these do.
The only thing better than a pair of Darn Tough socks is another pair of Darn Tough socks!
I bought these after reading excellent reviews online and seeing YouTube clips. Very high quality fabric. I have washed them twice, be sure to follow the instructions and turn the socks inside-out when washing (not sure why though). The only minor problem I have it that the socks are somewhat tight fitting compared to an REI brand wool sock, which makes it a tiny bit difficult to put the socks on over a hiking liner sock. I think the tightness is due to the very tight fabric weave, which is apparently what sets Darn Tough socks apart from all others and is the main reason for their resilience. I'm curious to see if they will last forever as touted in their ads and videos; only time will tell, but so far I am very satisfied.
Bought these for my boyfriend he says his feet feel like kittens
Long wearing socks. I use these for wildland firefighting and fall hiking. They last longer then the other Marino work socks I have used worth the price.
I rarely write a review, but Darn Tough socks are simply stellar. I've been wearing various versions for years and they are as good as the day I bought them. They not only last, they fit perfectly, with complete comfort, and even the most knarely wooly ones are soft and not itchy. The different versions vary by weight, cushion, and proportion of wool, the more wool the warmer. But even the lighter micro weight, though cooler than the hiker and full cushion weights, keep one warm on winter days. The Coolmax versions are very nice too, and a little cooler in hot weather. And I wear the quarter sock and lighter shoe socks every day for work, as they are cool in the warm weather and warm in the cool weather, and seem to magically keep my feet from getting as tired from many hours of standing. But they really show their stuff out on the trail, where after days of backpacking off trail in miserable wet weather, the single pair I had along kept their proper shape, dried quickly at night, and spared me of any blisters or discomfort. Even soaking wet they will keep you warm. Don't hesitate at all to buy as many as you can afford, because you will not be disappointed with your investment. Just get them, no other sock compares, and in the long run they will literally end up being less expensive. Just so you know, this is the second review of anything I've bought in two decades.
These socks were the first wool socks I had ever bought, instead of the usual super-store mass-produced ones. I was originally hesitant due to the price point, but as soon as I did a day of work (military, heavy use) in these socks I was blown away with the comfortability, bust most of all the moisture wicking. I still have this exact pair 3.5 years later, and I can confidently say that this one specific pair of socks was what made me fully transition to wool since then. Buy once, cry once. I promise that it's worth it.
Darn Tough makes great socks. I've been wearing Darn Tough socks for years and will continue to do so. They're comfortable, durable and guaranteed. What could be better.
I have come to the realization. Darn tough sock are the best , pricey but for the money they will out last the cost of buying cheap socks over and over in my opinion and the fit and comfort can’t be beat , with that said my collection began I now own enough pair to get me thru a week and my feet have never been happier.. also found that the thicker hikers make a great boot sock for work .
warm, comfortable, and durable
