Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect quick trip kayak I have an ascend 12' boat and a Hobie oasis 13.5' boat. Both are fairly heavy and bulky for just going on quick trips. The Elie shoal is very light weight and maneuverable. After getting this boat I would get home from work, toss it in my truck and was on the water quickly. Good storage for a short trip boat. The grooves for rod holders don't work well, but I put in eye let's and bungee cord across the top of them and now work great. This was exactly what I was looking for. An affordable, lightweight boat that is maneuverable for small streams and easy to lug around. Makes it easy to get out on the water, even if you only have an hour or 2 to spare.

Will it float or sink if it takes on water?

Asked by: Bill E
This kayak has added foam so that if it does take on water it will still stay afloat.

Will this kayak be ok for class I or at most class II rivers? Also looking at the wilderness systems aspire or Old town vapor 10. Any thoughts on which of these may be ok for mostly flatwater rivers with occasional small rapids?

Asked by: 2chow
This kayak is designed for flatwater use and is not recommended for rapids.
