Good for Nordic Cross Skating
I am an avid Nordic Cross Skater covering about 2000 KMs per year between April and November. I used the Delaney yesterday for the first time and it worked very well - I forgot that I was wearing it. I folded excess belt straps inside the belt and the belt needed no adjusting during the 8 KM outing ( I was teaching as new Skater). The bottle carries enough fluid for a 25KM skate but I will need to supplement fluids for the 42 KM marathon that I will be doing at the North Shore Roller Ski Marathon on Sept 16 in Duluth. The storage area is tight for my iPhone 6s, but adequate. This belt seems superior to the older Saloman product of the same style that it replaces.
NOT for running
I bought this belt, and ran 4 mikes with it and it was the longest four miles ever. The belt has to be super tight to minimize the bounce of the water bottle, which constantly loosens the belt. It's a vicious cycle of bouncing and tightening about every minute or so. This belt would probably be fine for cyclists or walkers where there isn't a lot of bounce. The water bottle is easy to access. Also, the pocket is not really big enough to hold a phone well. I could barely fit my iPhone 7 in it, and was even harder because I don't have Bluetooth headphones. Would be fine for keys, gels, ID. I had to return it immediately after one run. Again, probably fine for anything other than running.
Constant tugging to secure fit
Recently purchased this belt -- used it and constantly had to keep adjusting and tightening to secure the fit-not impressed with fit--- water bottle did keep cool and sufficient amount was a plus.. Improper fit is a big deal breaker especially for those long runs..
Not what I expected
I bought it hoping that I could use it on long runs. I like the bottle but I didn't like the angle. If it was tilted more to the right, it would be easier to use. But the worst part was the belt, I had to keep tightening it constantly. I guess that I could come up with an idea how to stop the straps from sliding out but this is a very reputable brand and the belt is not cheap so I returned it.
First waist Hydration system
Bought this today because I hate having to stop to drink out of the cups during 5K races. After adjusting the strap to my waist size and securing the loose strap with the stretchable webbing, I took it for my first run (3.2 miles). The belt was very comfortable and didn't move as much as I thought it would after reading other reviews. Enjoyed my run with the Delany belt and looking forward to trying in my next 5K event.
Great for short runs
I bought this piece a couple of weeks ago as part of an effort to do more running. It has been a great investment. The water bottle sits comfortably on my back both empty and full. I do wish the pocket were just a touch bigger, or that the pocket had a pass through for headphones since I don't use bluetooth headphones but I can just zip the pocket part way and it works well enough.
Camelbak running belt
Bought this 2 weeks ago from target to replace an older belt I used for the past 10 years... been running for 30 years. In order to keep the bottle from bouncing and the belt from slipping you have to CONTINUALLY tighten it, talk about a pain, nothing fixes the issue, except probably going out and getting a replacement. Do yourself a favor, don't buy it if you intend to run with it.
Convenient and functional
Once I got the belt to sit correctly on my lower back and adjusted correctly, I felt this was a very comfortable and functional belt. It did loosen up a little once I started running, but a quick adjustment of the bel fixed that issue. I have a smaller sized case for my iPhone 7 and it fill well into the pocket.
It worked for me
I have two years using this belt without any problem, including one marathon and one half marathon. It is true that you have to tighten it a little to avoid bouncing of the bottle, but it is not that dificult. My only complain is that I would like the pocket to be larger, in order to fit my cel phone better.
Slides everywhere
This has got to be the most annoying thing while running! It slides up and around - even when tightened, it won't stay put. I wound up stopping mid-run to cuss it out and try to get it to stay put by tightening it YET AGAIN, and nope, it still loosened and moved. :( I was majorly bummed.
