Unless it’s your last resort
This is a pretty bad hydration belt. Step through design which usually isn’t a problem for me but this one would not stay put. The Velcro doesn’t hold well so things you place in the side pockets and the water bottle in the back consistently fall out. I’ve lost headphones, gels, tissue packs, and have lost a bit of my head circling back to pick up the water bottle that inevitably falls out every half mile. I would pass on this, I will be returning :(
Almost great
Trained for and ran a half with this. People have noted the step through being a poor design. If I had wider hips, I’d agree completely. For me it’s the pocket for the water. It’s like getting a cat into a hammock. It doesn’t want to be there, and even when you succeed, you’re not confident it’s going to stay. The Velcro pockets can’t hold anything with that adjustable strap over them. Just forget they’re there. Front zipper pocket is great for important stuff. But it’s comfortable! It could be good!
Best Waist Hydration Pack
I have been using Nathan’s hydration waist packs for several years and they are awesome. Super simple and I don’t even notice it on my waist. It is perfect for trail running. I am able to carry water, keys, phone, tissue, and GU. Every year or so I get a new one. They withstand multiple wearings and washing The friends that I run with have also bought this. The clip and type are bulky and I do not like wearing a Camelback type.
An idiot designed this
An idiot designed this. It is a "step through" design, which means no buckle, so you have to step through what needs to be a tight-fitting belt to get it on, which for me is impossible. 34" waist, wide hips, can't get it on. Running belts need to be tight so they need buckles. I would never have imagined anyone would design a running belt as a solid loop. Bafflingly moronic. I will never again buy a Nathan product and am disappointed in REI for carrying this item.
Water bottle keeps falling out on runs.
I can't seem to keep the water bottle from falling out of the pouch. Kind of a bummer.
