Functionality meets Fashion.
I purchased these pants because they flex while moving and because of the sale price at the Washington Flagship Store . I wear a women’s size zero pant normally but I have found that I can also wear boys pants in a medium size. I love the color and the functionality of these pants and it’s always nice to score a deal once in a while… Great product .
5'1 Petite woman here
Finally found some hiking pants that fit! I'm 5'1, ~98lbs, narrow-ish bottom. Size M (10-12) fits great, perfect length for me. A little too tight but I'm hoping they'll stretch a little with wear. Look good as well, surprisingly feminine cut and fit. I tried Kuhl girls pants in size M and they were too tight, size L too big in either boys/girls cuts. Also girls models don't have good pockets (why???). This style has two deep front pockets and two zippered pockets in addition to back pockets and some tiny little pockets on the side. Very happy with my purchase.
My new favorite pair of field pants
I bought these pants in charcoal when I was looking for a pair of pants for field work researching birds in salt marshes in Delaware. I am a small woman who usually cannot find pants in my size in the women's section and decided to try kids pants. I am 5'2" and they fit perfectly. They are also very comfortable to walk around and work in. So far they dry the fastest out of all my field pants and have so many handy pockets. I can step into the water in the marsh and have these pants dry in a few minutes and I watch the water roll off of these pants when water splashes onto them. I plan on buying a couple more pairs of these pants for field work because I am highly impressed by the performance.
Durable with 7 pockets?! Long inseam
These pants are absolutely amazing. There feel extremely durable and are very lightweight. Did I mention that there are seven, yes seven, pockets? Four in the front (2 for the hands, two on the thigh that open from the side with zippers), one on the right side (that appears to be for pocket knives), and two in the back. My only real complaint is that these pants have longer inseam than normal size 14-16. As seen in the photo, the pant leg extends 4-5 inches past my ankle and so I can only wear these rolled up (I'm 5' 1"). That said, with this many features, the pants are still extremely worth it - I just might need to get them hemmed.
Great for boys
I bought a pair of these in charcoal 2 months ago for a hiking trip to Joshua Tree. My son lives in them now and they look great. Dressier than jeans but very comfy. They were on sale for about $30. Just bought another pair in khaki but unfortunately not on sale....they fit so well and they are long enough he can wear them for a while, so worth the price. They dont shrink and have adjustable waist band that is very comfortable. So my 9 yo says......
good for this petite slim woman
I am 5' tall , 84 lbs and waist is 24/25 inches. The pockets are really nice, especially the ones with zippers, but I wish there was a horizontal pocket on the pants leg. These pants fit me perfect and are good quality, although the waistline is a little tight. These run a little bigger than boys REI size medium say pants. I got size medium because I was afraid to size up based on other reviews. Ladies please include which size you ordered in your review- that really helped me decide which size to order since they don't include it in the review titles.
Indestructible after nonstop wear
My kids love these pants and wear them nonstop. (probably because their dad wears his Kuhl pants nonstop...:)) After 2 years they look brand new. Agree with other reviewers that the sizing is off: my 9 year old is just now growing out of the XS because they're too short though otherwise fine. My younger has been wearing, rolled up, since he was 5; the tighteners are excellent, the fabric has elastic, and the cut is thoughtful with give in all the right spots. The more sensitive-skin kid prefers them with long underwear. They are 4-season pants. We have gotten every penny out of these pants. I'm here to buy 2 more pairs, size small, for my older kid's ages (I hope) 9-10, so the younger kid can have both XS pants to himself for 1-2 more years.
Perfect for small ladies
I’ve been searching for a pair of hiking pants to fit my frame (5’4”, 110 lbs, narrow hips) and these fit like a gem. They’re a little big in the waistline, but since these are children’s pants, they have that amazing elastic + button feature on the interior, so I can cinch them to fit around my waist perfectly with no need for a belt!! They sit above my hip bones, have good space in the legs and behind for movement, without being too baggy. The length is perfect and is about an inch from the ground in the back with no shoes on. Haven’t done anything rugged in them yet, but happy to find a pair that actually fits!
Great Pants For Smaller Stature Adults
These are the only pants that I climb, hike, and mountaineer in. At this point, I have 4 pairs. As a shorter male (5 ft, 1 inch), it was really hard to find functional hiking pants that would hold up and fit me correctly. After trying on about 5 different brands in both adult and kid sizes, these were by the far the best fit and the only ones that I even considered purchasing. Two years later they are still the only hiking pants I use. The only mild inconvenience (that's not big enough to drop these amazing pants from a 5 star) is that the lower pocket stitching is on the outside of the pants and I have ripped it on two pairs. This makes that pocket useful and things fall through the bottom. It was after extended use though.
Awesome pants; REI's sizing chart is off
These pants are awesome. Durable, fast to dry, and stretchy, they're great for whatever you throw at them, and are pretty much the only high quality pants for rock climbing that I've been able to find easily available in these sizes. REI's sizing chart is off. All of the size large pairs that I have are marked 14-16. I'm 5'2" and have about a 28" waist, and L fits me pretty perfectly. They are maybe a tad too long, but I roll them up for climbing anyways.
