Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only 8 ounces - Nylon 6,6 - zippers not cinch cord Ultralight travel / ascent packs in this size are usually cinch-top, such as the famous Flash 18 by REI. This is a useful alternative for travelers - zipper top-loader (note that the topmost zipper circles the top more than zipping down the sides), with large, goes-to-the bottom front panel zipper. Also, a water bladder (or tablet, netbook) holder and a generously sized interior zip pouch (on the strap side, not the front panel side. Some things to note: straps are unpadded, unventilated seatbelt weight webbing (which I find fine, stronger than many thin, ventilated straps. There isn't a sternum strap or waist belt (fine with me to save weight and keep it simple). Unlike the Flash 18 there isn't ANY rear padding, not even an ultra thin one - so make sure your tablet or netbook is in its own case. This won't matter if you stuff a lightweight windshell in the water bladder slot. All these "negatives" for comfort tourists make this a SUPER lightweight traveler's "seat-side" bag, mainly because this takes NO perceptible space or weight when you stow it in another travel bag. YET the high tenacity, smooth finish (no pet hairs, stronger, won't abrade your clothes) Nylon 6,6 is bullet-proof in terms of sheer (tear) strength, puncture resistance, and abrasion resistance. This is now my "go-to" travel bag instead of the bulkier Flash 18 and the more fragile Sea to Summit 20L silnylon pack, both sold by REI so hopefully the review censors won't object to those mentions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from City walk I used to have an arc'teryx cierzo 18, which was my favourite and I bought another exact same one. But if I put pen or keys in the front pocket, it might get your pocket broken and no longer water proof. Now I but this one, and the size the perfect for my day in the city, and what I liked most is its water-resistant feature.
