Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this blanket I have had this blanket now for about 9 months and it has gotten me through the dark cold months of winter. The material is high quality ripstop and is also very soft. I have not really had a big issue with down coming out of the seams, there have only been a couple here and there. The warmth factor cannot be denied, it is highly insulative but is also a very light blanket. However, I've not tried out in really cold temperatures. But anything above 40 degrees Fahrenheit this should suffice just fine. It really is a high quality blanket, I was apprehensive paying that much for it but after 9 months of use I see that I got what I paid for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for a blanket if you are looking for a sleeping bag, stop and turn around. this doesnt flt that need. that being said, i hate sleeping bags: i feel so much better in this. i love how light it packs down. after stuffing into its sack, i can further compress it without using added straps or bags, to 8" tall by 6.5" diameter. perfect for my road bike bar bag, with room still for my down shirt and silk bag liner. paired with an insulated sleep pad, i keep warm without feeling restricted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable & Comfortable This blanket serves EVERY purpose - We use it as our everyday comforter and no other layers are required. Like your sleeping bag, the material insulates your heat keeping you comfortable all night long. And if you happen to have dogs who like to jump on the bed, this blanket is the best! Hair, water, sand, everything easily cleans off the blanket....perfect for when you get back from the beach and your dog decides to take a nap! Would highly recommend as an everyday blanket, or just the blanket you pull out for camping and beach days!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A luxury with questionable durability I picked this up on a whim to have a light and packable outdoor-friendly blanket for bonfires, sporting events, etc. To that end, this is an excellent product. It's a struggle to stuff it to down to the 7" x 7" size advertised as possible, but this blanket is still more portable than any other similar product. It's also sufficiently warm. I used it on a frosty 30 degree Minnesota fall night and it performed as well as its heavy wool counterparts. On the other hand, I do have concerns about durability. After a few weeks of light use, I'm seeing the down feathers poke through the seams. No rips or loose threads so far, though. To sum up, if you have $200 to spend for a product like this and seek portability over durability - go for it. If portability isn't a concern, I'd recommend a quality wool blanket that would last for generations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome quilt!!! Got this for a fairly warm weather camping trip. It performed wonderfully and was quite warm. Used it on 40F nights and was plenty warm. Plus since it's just a blanket I can toss and turn to my heart's content. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warmth in a small package I bought this for a camping trip a "just in case" blanket. I was very impressed how warm, light, and how easily it packed into the stuff sack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort! I purchased a one-person (54" x 80") Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket for a trip to the desert and more. It's a great stand-in for a sleeping bag in warm climates. I felt comfortable with a medium Smartwool top and bottom baselayer, 800 count down jacket, socks, and this blanket in ~50 deg F weather. I'm now using this blanket to keep me warm indoors and lowering my thermostat. I can't wait to take it outdoors again soon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm and nifty, but not as pictured. This does not pack down to the size of a Nalgene. It's closer to the size of six-pack than a beer bottle. But it is warm, light, and seems to be pretty good material anyway.

How different is this blanket than an army poncho liner as far as warmth?

Asked by: Renegade41
I have both.  It is warmer than the poncho liner, but bulkier.  If I had to choose, I'd take the Rumpl.  I take both when car camping.

what is the temperature rating on this?

Asked by: tokyo
It's pretty comfortable down to 40°F - that's a subjective answer of course - Being a blanket, and way more adjustable/adaptable than a sleeping bag, you can arrange to make it just right for you no matter where you are or who you are with.
