Rated 5 out of 5 by from A 4" Cloud I have used several sleeping pads in the past. This pad is by far the best one. It packs up to about the size of a 1L Nalgene, so it fits well in my backpack and in my suitcase when I travel. It only takes about a minute to inflate and stays inflated all through the night. I have used it in 20 degree temperature. To my surprise, it kept me warm through the night. The pad is narrow, so if you are a wide person you should definitely get the wider version of this pad. The best part about this pad is the fact that it is insanely comfortable. I have used it for the past 6 months and have slept on it around 25 times. It still impresses me every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super lite and warm So this is a really good pad. It takes about 25-26 full adult breaths to inflate fully and that seems like a lot when you've got Therma-rests new easy fill bags. I haven't tried the inflate bag that BA says will work with it, but some pump that would work would be nice. I think its more plush than anything out there for the warmth and price. The petite is really petite so if you're on the fence go with a regular. I don't really think its noisy, compared to the Therma's crinkle this is def not loud at all. Its got a fair amount of room too, I don't slip off and can even side-sleep on it. Pros: Lite Warm Durable Quick to deflate Holds air really well. Cons: Price Takes a few breaths

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sleeping Pad for Side Sleepers I've used lots of other sleeping pads over the years but this one is the best hands down. I do a lot of side sleeping and have issues with the arm/hand on the side I'm sleeping on falling asleep and waking me up. This is a little heavier than the NeoAir I have but so much more comfortable for me it's worth the extra weight. I have a cuben fiber tent and it doesn't slide around on it like other pads do. I'll gladly sacrifice the extra few ounces for the comfort. I used it on a recent weekend trip and got the best night's sleep I've ever had on a backpacking trip. Great pad!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, just did not meet my needs Wanted to love this because I needed an at least R-5 rated pad, and was looking for something lightweight and this one would fit the bill nicely. Unfortunately, blowing it up was a royal pain, not one I was willing to deal with. I had thought it was compatible with the Big A pump, but it wasn't, and not with any other I could find. Returned it and bought the Big Agnes R-5 from the Garage/Outlet and am super happy with it. Not only does it utilize the Big A pump, but I got an x-wide/regular. Only draw back is that it is not ultra light, but I feel for the comfort it affords me it is something I am willing to live with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An improvement on the older model I received this model as a warranty replacement for my older pad. This review is based on one weekends worth of use so bare with me. The new inflation with the one way valve and the separate deflation port work really well. I've got the long wide version and inflation/deflation were the biggest issue. I slept on this without any noticeable leakage and even used it out as a floaty out on a lake. It was very comfortable, but so was its predecessor. I'll try to update after more use but first impressions are strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pad! I bought this for a Thanksgiving weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains. The first thing that I noticed is that it packs smaller than my Big Agnes SL. It has larger inflate and deflate openings to speed up both processes. I slept very warm and comfortable in temps that were around freezing. Also, as with other Big Agnes sleeping pads, it fits into the pocket in the back of my Big Agnes sleeping bag! I have the Lost Ranger 15 and I was able to turn from side to side and back to stomach and never bottomed out on the pad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, small and COMFY Just got this after having the previous model for a year. That one had a valve problem and I swapped it out for the newer model. Still very comfortable and now with the new valve it deflates in no time -- a very nice improvement, especially in mosquito season. Looking forward to testing it out in colder weather later this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy enough for a side sleeper I'm a side sleeper and this is a very thick, very lightweight sleeping pad. An employee suggested it over the Therm-a-Rest I was looking at, and I'm glad I went with this one. I did end up re-inflating it just a breath or two in the middle of the night last time, but it was a very cold night, and it could have been that I didn't seal the valve properly as it didn't happen again. It is slippery, but I know all such pads are. Not too noisy which i REALLY appreciate and was a big part of what sold me on it. I am 5'4" purchased the petite size, and it was right decision for me - if you splay out, I'd recommend a larger version.

How is this different than the Q-Core SL?

Asked by: kalanchoe
The redesigned Q-Core SLX pad now has offset I-Beams which create incredible multi-directional support and stability. The Q-Core SLX is lighter, tougher, easier to inflate/deflate, packs smaller and sleeps warmer. Instead of using an R-value, Big Agnes now lists a comfort range of 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Are there any options for pumps for the Q Core SLX? It doesn't seem like the pump sack would work on this type of valve.

Asked by: Erin in FL
Big Agnes released the Pumphouse Ultra, which does work with this Q-Core SLX Sleeping Pad.

Can this be stored rolled up? Or is it recommended to store flat?

Asked by: chumbawumba
We recommend storing the Q-Core SLX Sleeping Pad flat and not rolled up if possible.

How loud is shifting around on this pad ?

Asked by: Jennifer G
Loudness is pretty relative, but I've used about a half dozen inflatable pads in the last year and I would say that this is pretty quiet. It does not have the crinkle sound that NeoAir is famous for, but you'll never be as quiet as when sleeping on closed cell foam. It makes pretty standard air mattress sounds? (I should also note that I was never really bothered by NeoAir crinkling either, so YMMV)

Whats R-value of this pad?

Asked by: Anthony Young
R-value not included in the specs but Big Agnes rates it for 15 F / -9 C so should have an R-value of about 4.5.

I'm looking for a super thick but lightweight pad for backpacking. Is this my best option? I usually don't camp in freezing weather, maybe down to 20° on rare occasions. I would prefer a minimum of 4 in thickness

Asked by: SarahK-Z
