Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped old horse out! Ten years ago I was a competitive runner. I'd run 5 minute pace for daily runs and today I'm lucky to run 12 minute pace with a pitbull chasing me. I simply stopped running and took a job that had me eating! So starting all over again I chose these shoes in place of my once regularly used flats. I've gotta say while it's extremely hard starting all over from scratch I wouldn't make it out the door without these Hoka running shoes. They give my huge behind the cushioning I need while giving me the old old feeling of lightness my days of sub 15 minute 5k times had on my feet. I'm loving these shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped with Achilles Pain First off, I've had fairly severe achilles pain for the last two years. Yes, I've done the exercises, tried keeping off it, etc... anyway, a few weeks ago I went into a running store to get my son new shoes and saw the Hoka Clifton 3s on the wall in all their cushiony glory. I tried them on and left the store a bit poorer, but holy smokes was I surprised. The back doesn't rub against my achilles and all the supportive cushioning has greatly reduced the pain, even more than I'd hoped. The pain had turned me from a runner into a jogger but now I'm back in running mode. After running nearly 40 years I can't imagine running in anything else anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feet never felt finer after a long, fast road run The Clifton might well be the Holy Grail of road shoes: cushioned but not mushy, supportive but not heavy, fast enough for speed work, forgiving enough for long-distance slogging. I had been a diehard Brooks fan for years, but found their more cushioned road shoes (e.g. Ghost) too heavy and stiff, and their lighter faster models (Launch, ST-5) to be too thinly soled for the long-haul. It was great to feel the trail underfoot, but it got tiresome as I ramped up the kms. When I started ultra training, it was clear I needed to find a new formula. So far I've put about 100km into the Cliftons, including some light trails. Delighted with them so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clifton 3 ROCKS! I've been a big fan of the Hoka Cliftons since they were launched. I've been through about 5-6 pairs of Cliftons. I recently purchased the Clifton 2 and I have about 100 miles on them. I liked the 2, but felt like it wasn't as cushioned as the 1, and the toe area in the 2 felt a little snug. Well, I just finished my first run in the Clifton 3. Wow! The magic of the original Clifton has returned in the 3! Great cushioning and lightweight. A little more room in the toe box than the Clifton 2 as well. Bottom line, while the Clifton 2 was a solid alternative to the original Clifton, I had a better running experience in the Clifton 3. Can't wait to hit the road again in my new Clifton 3s!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Please make wider widths available! My only complaint is they don't come in wider widths. I pretty much can't wear them with the inserts. Otherwise my arthritis feet will swell. So I mainly use them when I am volunteering at a race or photographing a race. I would return them but they were given to me through a Holka sponsored event for free and were fine for a few days but then they started to mak my few swell because of the width. I'm sure this is because of the width affecting my arthritis. I ordered wide Bondie 4s in hopes of elevating the problem. Because I want to keep wearing Holka. Holka are great shoes. They just need to offer more shoes in wider widths!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Changes? I've been an avid Hoka wearer since the original Bondi. I just don't know what to think anymore... The original Clifton was so comfortable, and after the complaints about the Clifton 2, I just knew HOKA would dial the Clifton 3 in with a wider toe box. My thoughts: I can't tell a difference between the toe box width of the 2 and 3. While the upper does seem much more comfortable, the toe box is shallow. Worse yet, it seems shorter as well. If I decided to stay with Hoka, I would have to size up a half size from what I normally would have worn on all the other models of Cliftons. I'm afraid I'm just done...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not suggest I ran with the shoes for a minimum of 10 miles on the road and trails and they were just fine. But once I went out to the track and did some speed workouts, the shoes began to show some wear and the bottom soon fell apart. I only wore them on my runs so I'm very curious as why they wore out so quickly. The black rubber on the bottom of the shoes seem to be poorly glued on or my 10 miles really wore them out. It seems strange to me that such a greatly reviewed shoe could be so easily broken down. It's my first time with Hoka and I'm deeply disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My go-to shoe Newcomer to Hoka.. I wore New Balance, Saucony and Brooks mostly but heard so many great things about this brand, I had to give them a try. When I finally did, I found my new go-to shoe for mid distance and marathon training. They're light, cushioned, supportive and fast. What more can you ask for?!? They've held up very well too, I have about 175miles on them and they're still going strong. Only gripe I have is that they're slightly too narrow, I had to switch out the insole because my inside forefoot was pinching on the side. I'd like to see a slightly wider forefoot, and they'd be absolutely perfect. Thanks Hoka!
