This shirt is very comfortable and dries really fast. It is great for all day hiking in temperature ranges between 55-70deg. The thumb hole loops are perfectly designed and sized to allow gloves to be worn without bunching up the sleeves. The ¼ zip neck provides ample venting but would be better if it were maybe a ½ zip. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was for durability. The shirt started to show wear signs at the area where my backpack straps were rubbing after only about 50+ miles on the trail.
I sweat a lot in this product and it’s not wicking as described
This line of under garments is great. The only thing that kinda bugged me was the collar on the collard style shirt. I ended up taking it back and getting the crew ( collarless one) instead. Breathable, lightweight, and comfortable. This will be a good buy no matter who you are.
I'm sold on the capilene lightweight line. This is now my go-to baselayer for winter hiking. It's thin, but it dries faster than any other shirt I've worn, so it's just about perfect for a base layer. I sweat through it this winter while snowshoeing and after stopping for 20 minutes or so it was bone dry. Since this dries so quickly, I'll be testing out capilene lightweight t-shirts this summer.
Bought this top during the garage sale . Even tough it was not on sale bought it with my REi dividend so was easier to swallow price wise. Did head to head testing with Ems Techwick, LL bean Coolmax and Smartwool. This base layer seemed to dry quicker and absorb less water after complete immersion in water. This will now be my go to top on all my adventures .
I wore this long sleeve top with a tee shirt underneath for 2 days on the Inca trail. It was surprisingly comfortable over a wide range of temperature and exertion levels. I never felt any moisture buildup and the top still smelled okay at the end. There were some annoying stray threads that needed to be trimmed.
Used this as a base layer in Big Bend when the overnight low was 37. This helped keep me warm and very comfortable as well as dry during the next early morning hike. Very lightweight and no uncomfortable rubbing during extended wears.
Or twice so far it’s OK except sizes run very big. Suggest ordering down one step from your normal size. Pricey. Better options are similar Nike and UA versions.
I have a bunch of their T shirts in the same fabric, which I love. This is a nice long sleeve for when it's just a bit too cool for short sleeves, but too warm for something heavier. Also probably really good for people who are more sensitive to sun. Unlike the old poly-pro, these do NOT stink up after a day of use. Hopefully that will continue--my T shirts are over a year old and still not easily "stinked".
Excellent warmth or cooling/breathing under weather appropriate gear from warm jacket to rain gear. Excellent mobility and stretch; quite functional in all weather conditions. Great for hiking, cycling, or just biking around town.
