It grew...
A year ago I would have given this jacket a 5+ rating. In 2015 I bought a black Delta LT, size small and I loved it. I wore it hiking, traveling, at work... it was tight-fitting and short, fit underneath every jacket without showing and added a layer of warmth or covered my work uniform in public without being too hot. Last year I decided to add to my wardrobe and bought two more, also because the first jacket was starting to show signs of wear. But these new Delta LT jackets are bigger than the old model. They are longer and wider in body and sleeves. While still good jackets, their current fit very much reduces their versatility for me. I wish I had bought more when I bought the first one.
Perfect lightweight jacket
I have 2 of these, one in the jacket version and the other with a hood, and I love them both! Work every penny! Perfect as a light midlayer in your layering system or as a standalone in cool weather. It has great warmth for how light it is, dries super quick when wet, a comfortable fleece fabric, and so versatile you can use it while in the office during the week then take it with you to the backcountry on the weekend. My only criticism is I wish the length was a tad longer as the sleeve length and torso fit nicely but the length at my hips seem a bit short, so perhaps a longer hem would make it perfect but maybe that is just me.
Very thin and lightweight layer
I purchased the Delta LT for use in mildly cool weather and as insulation under Windstopper softshell jackets and have not been disappointed. The fit is true and trim. I wear a size large in Arc'teryx tops due to broad shoulders. It's so nice to get a size large without lots of excess fabric in the torso. The Delta LT is a very thin Polartec fabric that breathes extremely well. That also means wind passes through the jacket very easily so I wouldn't recommend this if you desire warmth in windy conditions without an outer shell. For me, I found the Delta LT to be a perfect companion for my Arc'teryx shells. Together, they provide comfort into fairly cold conditions without bulk. After a day of vigorous activity, the Delta LT also makes a great lounging sweater while warming up beside the fireplace and sipping hot java. My only dig is a wish for a way to cinch the hem a bit to prevent airflow; not a deal breaker, however.
ALL Back-in-Black
One perfect shirt...no weight...portable...sensation one shirt long sleeve. Perfect size M for me.. adapteable sensation all move for all situations activity. One very Lung... Durable in probe... Really Beauty... Piny... no hood and pull fingers in sleeve...
Great Mid layer
Bought the Delta LT as a standalone piece and its a bit thinner and tighter than anticipated. I did not return it as it will serve its new purpose as my mid layer under my Beta AR. When needed for Maine winters part of my laying system. However I'm more of an athletic build and ALL other Arc pieces in an XL fit me with perfection, this was the fist piece purchased that ran tight on me. Again not a problem as part of my layering system however I will not wear this on its own. Its superior quality and I love the zippers easy to utilize even with gloves due to the pulls. Overall happy with the purchase just a bit thinner and tighter than anticipated.
Great Jacket - rubbish zip
I bought this as a mid layer for a ski mountaineering trip along the Grand Lui variant of the Haute Route. I needed a flexible layer that would be good for climbing in freezing conditions with enough ventilation for when the sun came out without any need to faff about with layers. It did that job very well - normally with only a merino T shirt under it and a goretex paclite shell when v cold/windy. And it survived 7 days in the mountains of continuous wear. But - the zip doesn't have a catch so it is more than capable of undoing itself whilst climbing up (e.g. Axe/crampons/big pack with skis on it) or skiing down. Arcteryx really need to fix this.
Non slip zip, slips
I am a regular user of Arcteryx clothing. This is my first review because I’m disappointed in the No Slip Zip™ advertised on the Delta LT jacket. This is inaccurate, I have worn the garment twice, once on a light run and the second walking. On both occasions the zip continually slips down and is such an irritation that the top has been exiled to the back of my wardrobe. I have written to Arcteryx relating to this issue, but they aren’t interested. It’s worth considering that whilst Arcteryx is a premium brand their service is terrible, as no one responds, phone numbers don’t work and they take for ever to refund returns.
Hi Andy, Thank you for reaching out to Arc'teryx with your feedback on the Delta LT Jacket. We're sorry to hear about the performance issues you have come up against with your Delta LT Jacket. While we should note that the No Slip Zip™ front zipper will only engage when the zipper is done three-quarters of the way up, we appreciate your comments nonetheless and will be sure to pass them along to our design team. We notice you have started a Product Service Request and our product Service Team was able to provide you with a satisfactory solution. If you have any additional comments or concerns, please feel free to contact your product Service team member, give our Customer Service Line a call or fill out a Contact Us Form. All the best.
Perfect lightweight Fleece
I bought this for my husband for a trip to the Middle East in winter there. He always lives in his polar fleeces in our cooler Bay area climate - he has worn this jacket almost everyday since he got it - abroad and home. I just ordered a second to put away for when this one can't be worn any longer. He's semi retired so does a variety of activities in the jacket -- from hiking, repair and garden work, to sitting at his computer or snoozing on the sofa. He layers with a windbreaker for colder, rainy days. Wish they made this lightweight and stylish a fleece for women.
Zipper
I have a XL upper body but L everything else, so I decided to get the XL and wasn't happy to find out that it fits significantly larger than a standard XL. It's very loose around the armpits, isn't tight on my chest but unzips constantly. I do however plan on trying a large but I'm skeptical about the zipper thing... Other than the lose/extra material around the armpit & the zipper coming undone, I wear this almost daily and love it. It's light, dries super fast, and holds warmth very well. I don't own a Atom so I've used this for winter under my LEAF Alpha and it always kept me warm, often made me sweat a lot.
Tailor Made
I have a kyanite jacket, covert cardigan and delta lt jacket. Of the three this is my favorite in terms of fit and function. I am 171cm, 150lbs and the small is tailor made. I have long arms and a shorter torso and it’s perfect. It’s lightweight so I am able to pack it down small and it’s very versatile. I wear from anywhere between 45-60F over a base and I am able to layer over it easily when needed. It’s looser than a kyanite (of same size) and lighter than a covert. I have 3 (two 2019 models and one 2020) that I rotate throughout fall and winter seasons. I know that many are not fans of the arm pocket but I think it’s a great touch. It’s a nice change from a giant chest logo.
