Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality light Purchased the light for security purposes. Plan was to place the flashlight in an outbuilding on my property in replacement for a multi D cell behemoth. This flashlight is much brighter then its D cell brethren and is much smaller and rechargeable. Its small enough that I carry it in my pack and since it is rechargeable I also carry it in my car when I am on extended road trips. Very pleased with the product. It is supper bright and very useful when investigating noises emanating (raccoons, skunks, squirrels etc) from the surrounding territory. For close up work any reflections can be overpowering so the the brightness settings are more useful then I anticipated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One hot tamale This thing is BRIGHT. The battery has a good life span. I like the recharge function as well as the different battery options. I've dropped mine a few times, seems pretty durable. I would say 5 stars but I keep having a problem with me bumping the switch and it coming on. I carry it on my side all day every day. If you were carrying it in a bag this wouldn't be a problem. The directions say to unscrew it so the battery won't make contact however I never know if I will have both of my hands free when I find the need to grab my light. Perhaps a small cap for the back on a lanyard or a better case would be nice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Know the fine print After reading the information on this web site I thought I could turn this light on, have it on turbo mode and have the battery last about 90 minutes. Nope! I bought one and after reading the fine print I realized this light will not do that at all. The fine print says after 5 minutes on turbo mode it cuts the power to high because of overheating concerns. The means the light goes from 960 lumens to 480. Then it will only be in high mode for 30 minutes and it will cut power to Mid level which is 180 lumens. Again heat is given as the reason for this. So if you are looking for a high output light that can stay at a high level for awhile please keep looking! This isn't what you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright and useful Bought this about a month ago as something to carry with me most days. I haven't had to charge it yet! It is a little on the large size to carry everyday, but when you need it is very useful - I really like the different brightness levels. So far I would recommended it to anyone who needs a good light, seems to be very high quality. If I had to do it again, I might buy a slightly smaller light for my application, but I am not going to fault this fantastic light for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for walking pets in the middle of the night We bought one of these lights several months ago, and liked it so well that we have purchased a total of 4 of these lights that we keep close to the doors. On the highest setting, you can identify objects/animals a quarter mile away. The heaviest routine use is when I walk my dogs well before daylight. We have a lot of wildlife in the places where we stay that we like to see, but also includes some you don't want to approach unaware: skunks, coyotes, wolves, bears, and most worrisome, cougars. I generally use the light on the middle setting as that allows me to see pretty well out to about 75 yards. I turn it up if I see something that I want to look at more clearly, or that is farther away. A battery charge lasts well over a month used this way, but in reality I have never allowed them to run all the way down. I occasionally turn up to the higher setting, and if setting 4 isn't noticeably different from setting 5 (the highest), I take that as a sign that it is time to recharge. The mini-usb charge port is very convenient as it is the same as my cell phone, and my cell phone chargers work just fine. This means you can charge it in your car as well. My only complaint is that while this is a compact light by conventional standards, it is still a bit large for continuous pocket carry. They make a smaller version that has half the battery life that might solve this, but currently I carry a much smaller, non-rechargeable light routinely for intermittent use. But this Fenix UC35 is my go-to light when I know I'm going to use a flashlight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome light! So far I ha e to say this light rocks. Bought it to replace my maglight for camping/edc. It is a stitch big for edc when wearing slim pants, but it does come with a holster which is nice. I've dropped it a few times and have gotten the thing soaked and it still keeps on working! My only gripe is having to remember which power level (it has 5) I left it on. The head does get hot and will reduce power after a while if left on "turbo" mode. Not an issue for me but just don't get caught off guard when it happen. But overall, a great torch without the "tactical" gimmicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fenix Flashlight Compact. Rechargable. 3 intensity settings, plus a strobe for emergencies, I carry this in my backpack and have used it 3 times since I bought it a few weeks back. What I like about this flashlight is that it does what my big flashlight does and is not as bulky. Plus you can take it hiking with you on overnights with out it weighing you down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Potential Out of the box this light is absolutely amazing. However I have found a few issues with it. While using I have noticed the brightness change on the low mode if it bumps something. I've also now had it shut off completely when it was bumped. Unfortunately those flaws may be a deal breaker if I cannot trust the light. Debating to return and pay the money for a surefire.

From their website, I see that Fenix sells at least TWO 18650 batteries: the 2600mAH and the larger-capacity 3500mAH.  The specs don't (and should!) say which is supplied in this flashlight.
